Abstract: Crack is a major defect of buildings. Digital image methods are often used to detect cracks. But incorrect or un-unique results may be inverted with an inappropriate algorithm. An image processing way is presented to obtain the sole width value. Meanwhile, the crack with several branches can be measured. In the processing, the crack skeleton is first calculated. Then each of the points on the skeleton is served as a center of a group of circles, one by one. The radius of the circles is increased step by step. The iterations will not stop until any point in the circle goes out of the crack. Thus the last circle in the iteration is served as an incircle of the crack. The diameter of the incircle is a crack width in a given skeleton point. The maximal and average width of the crack will be calculated after all the incircles with all the skeleton point are traversed. The experimental results show the proposed method can extract the width of cracks in a complex context.

Abstract: The moisture distribution in the transformer and variation mechanism of moisture in oil is analyzed in this paper, and using relative saturation and temperature as characteristic parameters, a detail scheme of on-line monitoring moisture content in transformer oil is put forward. The polyimide-based capacitive humidity sensor and temperature sensor are employed in on-line monitoring moisture content in oil. Computer is utilized to sample and analyze the data that sensors send out. The experiment on test transformer confirms that the sensors can work reliably, and reflect the moisture content in transformer oil accurately. The method that the paper proposes can realize the purpose of on-line monitoring.

Abstract: Considering the statistical characteristics of contourlet coefficients of images, we propose an image fusion method based on the universal contourlet hidden Markov tree (uHMT) model. A salience measure and a match measure are presented according to the probability of a contourlet coefficient belonging to the high state of the uHMT model which needs no training. Experimental results prove the effectiveness of our method in the field of visual quality and objective evaluations.

Abstract: Band selection algorithm is most important in data dimension reduction of hyperspectral image. There are many algorithms of band selection, but there are only few methods to do algorithm evaluation. A method is put forward in this paper to evaluate the band selection algorithm of hyperspectral image. The amount of information, brightness, image contrast and definition are defined as 4 indexes to measure deferent data fusion based on various band selection results. Based on the measurement, the evaluation of band selection algorithm is realized. In the paper, the evaluation method is used in the compare of 4 common band selection algorithms, the result of measurement is analyzed and the feasibility is verified.

Abstract: Every node in wireless multi-hop mesh networks periodically transmits its own beacon and then monitors the existence or activity of other nodes by checking their beacons. So, the loss of beacon message in wireless multi-hop mesh networks causes the inefficient network overhead. This paper proposed a dynamic beacon collision detection and avoidance (BCDA) mechanism that can actively adapt to beacon collision status due to node movement. Each node checks the collision status by comparing the received beacon timing information from neighboring nodes with that of its own. It is shown from the performance evaluations that the proposed BCDA mechanism provides the decrease of beacon collision ratio and the throughput enhancement.

Abstract: In recent years, improvements in information technology have resulted in the increased availability of customer transaction data. This trend is closely linked to an ever-growing desire on the part of the marketing manager to use the firm's customer transaction databases to detect the customer is still alive or has been churn out. This research proposes a stochastic model for information managers to estimate the recency length of customers and predict the next purchase time length after the observation period end. This paper conducts exponetail distribution as interpurchase time and calculates its recency model. The results can provide managers to segment customer or make marketing strategy.

Abstract: In recent years, making use of smart mobile devices to the tour is more important due to these devices are popular and people pay much attention to tourism. The purpose of this work is to integrate technologies, including Android, wireless sensor networks and augmented reality to design an interactive museum exhibit system. The main contributions of this paper are twofold: the integration framework of interactive museum exhibit system is provided and the integration of museum exhibit system and wireless sensor networks. Implementation of this work includes Android, wireless sensor networks and augmented reality to design an interactive museum exhibit system.

Abstract: The Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) network provides features for using digital devices easily without configuration. But, there are some issues such as cross network segment and security in the UPnP networks. To solve the problem, many works use an additional proxy server and a recommendation system to provide suitable services. However, the approach requires additional resources and cost and it is difficult to deploy in the digital home. In this work, we propose a new concept which the profile was portable and within user’s personal digital device. The digital device can use the profile and information such as identification, time, location, etc. to find suitable devices and simplify the operation for resource access and increase privacy. Finally, we implement the portable-profile on android phone to achieve the concept.

Abstract: This paper presents the electric field characteristics in a reverberation chamber which is an electromagnetic compatibility test facility that uses a stirrer to generate a uniform electric field inside it. In this paper, a diffuser is introduced from acoustics and newly designed to overcome problems of a stirrer. To validate the effect of a diffuser, a composite quadratic residue diffuser and a reverberation chamber are modeled. Then, the field uniformity inside the reverberation chamber is simulated by XFDTD 6.2 simulation program. Simulation results show that the electric field uniformity in the reverberation chamber satisfies the international standard requirement. This shows that the composite quadratic residue diffuser can be substituted for a stirrer.
