Abstract: Data extraction is an important issue in Deep web data integration. In order to extract the query results of the Deep Web, it is firstly required to locate the target data block correctly. Due to the html source code of web pages can be parsed as well structured DOM, we proposed an effective algorithm for discerning the common path based on hierarchical DOM. Based on the common path and our predefined regular expression, the target data of the Deep Web can be extracted effectively. The experimental results on real websites show that our proposed algorithm is highly effective.

Abstract: FAQ system is a question answering system which finds the question sentence from question-answer collection and then returns its corresponding answer to user. The task of matching questions to corresponding question-answer pairs has become a major challenge in FAQ system. This paper proposes a method for sentence similarity metric between questions according to its semantic similarity as well as the length of question length. Experiments show that this method can improve the accuracy and intelligence of answering system, has some practical value.

Abstract: With the arrival of the era of 3G mobile communications, people need not only to meet the call, SMS service, and begin to pursue more realistic visual and interactive experience. The paper developed the virtual campus roaming system of the Wuhan University of Technology for the Android platform based on the Baidu map of the mobile version of the API (Android) and OpenGL ES development tools. Users may select the Campus location of Wuhan University of Technology in the Android mobile phone and can query the campus road, the corresponding function architecture position and 3D virtual scene graph; at the same time they can accept the new information campus. The system of design cannot only provide users with a conventional mobile map services, but also show their location of the 3D scene graph. It is more intuitive to display location information, enhance the campus scenery and culture readability.

Abstract: ntelligent instrument is an important learning content for the college students whose major is Technique and Instrumentation of Measurements. The Course design about intelligent instrument based on NI ELVIS platform is described in this paper. Students made a kind of virtual frequency meter by building signal conditioning circuit on NI ELVIS platform and programming by LabVIEW application software. The design of virtual frequency meter has a good function, a good promotion, and has practical value as well .The design course has been carried out in the actual teaching activities for two years, more than 200 students successfully completed the goal of teaching.

Abstract: As a special kind of image, the grid-based digital elevation model (DEM) is directly related with the landform and topography feature. In the real word, there are various landforms, and the results of different methods for DEM processing vary greatly. However, the discussion of using different methods in different landform areas in DEM generalization is needed. Numerous methods have been proposed previously for DEM generalization without taking topographic factors into consideration, and the setting of threshold value of most algorithms is very subjective. Therefore, we investigate the DEM generalization, using two methods (z-tolerance method and compound method) in different landform areas and propose a new way for threshold values setting in generalization. The results show that the method we proposed is feasible and the compound method offers a better performance over z-tolerance method in most conditions, especially when comparing their performances of keeping streamline shape.

Abstract: Research on measuring night visibility using digital images mainly focused on low visibility conditions nowadays. Also, the long term observation leads to fluctuations of the single light source, which would undermine the measuring range and precision. In this context, this paper presents the dual light sources measurement method to eliminate the fluctuations of single source and to achieve both high measuring range and precision at night conditions. The source of visibility measuring error is firstly formulated through an error analysis. Then we propose a dual light sources framework that yields two identical beams to measure the visibility, which is advantageous over the single light source method and capable of measuring high visibility. In the experiments, the stability of the dual light sources is firstly tested by a 72-hour running. The average luminance ration of dual light sources is 0.9932 and the average relative error is 0.04%. The relative error of dual light sources luminance ration is only 0.2% when the fluctuations of single source is as high as 2.28%. Then the dual light sources is applied in the digital image night visibility measuring system to evaluate its validity. The result shows that the dual light sources method is capable of measuring the range of 390 times of baseline (40m baseline) with the error less than 15%, which fully meets the meteorological demands.

Abstract: Characterization of tongue diagnosis is one of important content of the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).Tongue image is acquired by camera. Then OpenCV, which is the tool for analyzing image, is used to process tongue image in the environment of Visual C++. Firstly, by some algorithms OpenCV is used to make color tongue image into gray image, and gray image into binary image. Then algorithms are used to extracts tongue target. From the tongue target, some features are extracted. These features combining with traditional Chinese medicine, diagnosis can be given.

Abstract: Light-emitting diode (LED) is a kind of short-coherence light source, and it can generate time gating effect and reduce the speckle noises in digital holography. Meanwhile, it can cut down the cost of the setup since LED is cheaper than laser. In this paper, an in-line digital holography setup was designed with LED, and the holograms were reconstructed by four-step phase shifting method. Comparing with the phase image obtained by the laser-based setup, results show that the phase image of USAF test target possesses lower speckle noises with the help of LED. Finally, we reconstruct a series of intensity images with different depths of a coin, and these images are fused to get a synthesized image with more information.

Abstract: Neural network had been used widely in many applications, such as to recognize an object or character, to detect a motion, to control a process, to forecast a result, to analyze data and for management of information. With the rapid growth of vehicles on the road and with the aid of improved technology, there is a demand for processing vehicles as conceptual resources in information systems. This paper will show how to design a system using the neural network to recognize the vehicle registration plate of vehicles. The approach to the project is by capturing footage and after which, the footage undergo segmentation to obtain the vehicle registration plate numbers using this software called MATLAB. The simulation will be illustrated after training the neural network; the system is able to recognize most of the vehicle registration plate with minimum errors.

Abstract: Accurate pedestrian detection is required for practical applications such as automotive and security applications. However, the implementation does not have enough performance because the present schemes are not sufficient. In this paper, the authors proposed parallel implementation of HOG-based pedestrian detection on GPU to obtain real-time processing results. By the proposed implementation, the total processing speed becomes 60 times faster than that of original one on frame rate and real-time processing is achieved.
