Production Efficiency of Construction Industry in Shaanxi Province Based on DEA

Abstract:

This paper evaluates the production efficiency of Shaanxi province construction industry from 2006 to 2011 using the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method, and finds out the decreasing trend in Shaanxi province construction industry. The research points out the reasons for the decreasing efficiency are incapability of Shaanxi province construction industry to adapt the technology improvement, weakly comprehensive abilities, clumsiness in scale-control, and irregularities of Shaanxi province construction market system. In order to promote efficiency, suggests regulating market system, strengthening technical innovation and improving the personnel quality.
