Abstract: The geometry, ventilation, building construction and the other aspects are very important for the correct designing of the buildings. The building can be designed correctly only by the coordination between all parts of the designing. Especially for large building the coordination between civil part and fire protection is very important. The PC modeling of the fire is cheap and effective form to show the real fire behavior. The fire dynamic simulations could help to make a correct design.

Abstract: Timber buildings in Slovakia have a long history but also interesting future. One of the limitations that inhibit wide usage in Slovakia is the control of the height. This paper analyzes building height according to valid codes and enactments.

Abstract: Mass using of transparent building constructions as a fire construction has been marked in Slovakia of late. The transparent building constructions are most especially using for a inter fire compartments and also as a non-loadbearing facades. Important phase of transparent building constructions developing was possibility to design them thanks to varied offering of production the systems.

Abstract: Religions activities are realized in specific buildings which are not dwelling units. From fire safety point of view is necessary to assessed these buildings as an assembly rooms on which specific fire safety requests are made, in majority cases. To need of safety evacuation of people from the specific building in case of fire is subordinated not only choice of building constructions and used surfacing but also the need of safe evacuation. Quality building constructions and also fire safety equipment of buildings are basic conditions of fire safety of sacral buildings.

Abstract: The contribution shows to some changes in requests assessing to doors from fire safety of building point of view. The contribution specifies new requests to doors in escape road, new requests to their equipment and also to their fitting. The contribution tells about requests to doors which stopping penetration of smoke in fire compartments. Requests follow mainly from current legislative regulations valid in the Slovak republic.

Abstract: Problem of planning fire units deployment need deeper analysis. It will be appropriate to define standards and risk assessment for improving assistance to citizens. Effective support is defined as the minimum number of firefighters and equipment which must arrive on scene in a defined time. When we specify the number of firefighters and the optimal fire stations deployment, it is necessary to consider various factors influencing development of damages, consequences of emergencies and also operational and tactical options of firefighting units. This article summarizes theoretical knowledge of fire stations and compares different types of mathematical models of fire stations deployment.

Abstract: The issue of calculating the fire resistance of timber structures is discussed in detail in European Standard EN 1995-1-2. In the calculation it is possible to combine different materials, joints and effect of cavities on the spread of fire. The problem occurs if the design is underestimated, the realization of construction or choice of materials. Improperly designed geometry, poorly chosen materials, products or systems contribute to the intensity of the fire. It is important to remember properties of the individual components of a structural element and subsequent interaction during a fire. Article simply analyses the impacts of possible choices of different products and their behavior in fire. The article is based on EN 1995-1-2:2004 [.

Abstract: The article is focused on the analysis of air exchange by natural ventilation in the staircase area with elevator in the middle as a protected escape route. The article contains three variants of air exchange rate calculation that are based on the effect of the temperature difference and the effect of wind action. The result of these calculations is the verification if the staircase windows provide sufficient air exchange in the protected escape route to ensure the required level of protection for evacuees.

Abstract: Contribution deals with the external of compensatory steps to equalize difference in height between adjoining terrain transmittance and first floor of the building overhead. Function of balancing steps constitutes the transition between exterior and interior with the role of helping the human body to adapt to changing external conditions and the impact of the transition from the outside in and vice versa. Stairs should be safe, non-slip and harmony with the overall architecture of the building.

Abstract: Acoustically speaking, a door as a part of a wall cladding or internal wall partition is usually the weakest element of such a structure [1,2]. The less effective sound insulation properties of a door, in comparison with the main wall structure, results in the fact that the sound reduction index of the door is one of the most important factors affecting the total sound isolation properties of a complex wall.
