Abstract: Product design and development becomes increasingly knowledge-intensive and collaborative. It is very difficult to meet currently imperious needs for the traditional design mode, knowledge managing methods and the geometry-centric application tool. Designers require more generic knowledge of design and design process and more intelligent system. It establishes the FBPSS framework system supporting modeling of product function, behavior, principle, state and structure. Based on this FBPSS framework system, ontology-based product design system is developed through design knowledge repositories.

Abstract: The scope of this paper is to further extend the classification of the open innovation activities in order to provide a template to the case studies and theories, in the field, to come. Also, it serves as guidance to practitioners deploy supportive capabilities to their exact needs. A review of the literature, indexed by ISI Web of Knowledge and Scopus, of the studies that could respond the why’s and how’s of the open innovation process was done. Based on this review, we propose an extension of the current view (inbound, outbound and coupled) encompassing two other variables, called levels (technical level and strategy level). These two new variables crossed against the current archetype (inbound, outbound and coupled) provide a six type classification. We further analyze each of these types, examining their usefulness and exemplifying how it has been applied by companies.

Abstract: The research on design of multi-bar Raschel lace is still little at present, but the research on design method of multi-bar Raschel lace is very urgent. So it becomes very important to make scientific classification of Raschel lace patterns and discuss the design method of multi-bar Raschel lace patterns. This study focuses on the basis of design skills of the lace pattern composition and structure, explores the typical design steps of Raschel lace patterns, analyzes the elements and application of lace fabric design, summarizes the common arrangement mode of lace fabric design and sums up the concrete problems and solving method of connection design. Then the scientific design idea of lace fabric can be proposed, which will provide useful references for the design of multi-bar Raschel lace patterns in domestic enterprises.

Abstract: The design of engine valve spring generally belongs to multi-objective optimum design. The traditional trying means and the graphical methods are difficult to solve the multi-objective optimization problem, and the traditional multi-objective algorithms have certain defects. The elitist non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) is an excellent multi-objective algorithm, which is widely used to solve problems of multi-objective optimization. This method can improve the design quality and efficiency, and it has much more engineering practical value.

Abstract: This study proposes an optimization system to find out the optimal process parameters of plastic injection molding (PIM). The system is divided into two phases. In the first phase, the Taguchi method and analysis of variance (ANOVA) are employed to perform the experimental work, calculate the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio, and determine the initial process parameters. In the second phase, the back-propagation neural network (BPNN) is employed to construct an S/N ratio predictor. The S/N ratio predictor and genetic algorithms (GA) are integrated to search for the optimal parameter combination. The purpose of this stage is to reduce the process variance and promote product quality. Experimental results show that the proposed optimization system can not only satisfy the quality specification, but also improve stability of the PIM process.

Abstract: The design level of the brake is important in ensuring the vehicles’ fast and safe running. Since the present brake parameter optimization design model can not meet the requirements of the practical application very well, this paper proposes a drum brake multi-objective optimization model aiming at minimizing the volume of the drum brake and minimizing the brake’s temperature rise. The algorithm of MOEA/D is adopted in the simulation. The simulation results indicate that the Pareto front we get is suitable for real and engineering problems, which is helpful for designers to choose appropriate parameters to optimize the brake and provides designers with great consultative value.

Abstract: Naval ship concept design is required not only accurately evaluating the feasibility of projects, but also optimize the technology indexes based on certain algorithm. That means at the foundation of appropriate technology indexes, the cost and risk can be optimized to obtain the preliminary overall project, which can be the design baseline for the subsequent design. The establishing and application pattern of naval ship synthesis model will be discussed in this paper firstly, and overview the development of ship synthesis model for about half the century. Some achievements will be introduced then, which included the key technology indexes, that aiming at the technology supports to the naval ship projects design work in domestic.

Abstract: It is significant and valuable to predict the motion of ships in the underway replenishment statement. Thispaper proposes a new Double ships autoregressive-multiple method ( DARm ),which can determine the orders and parameters of model in areal-time. Meanwhile, the hydrodynamic interactions between the ships has beentaken into consideration and be reflected in the method. Then the method is applied to forecast ships’ roll attitudesin different speed. The simulative results of autoregressive- multiple method show the validity and veracity.

Abstract: The research object is hydraulic tool turret cabinet of CNC lathe. Building the hydraulic tool turret cabinet model by Pro/E, then meshing the cabinet by Hyper-mesh software, finally calculating by the ANSYS. Do modal analysis and harmonic response analysis for the cabinet, then make the second order frequency maximum as a target, use the Altair OptiStruct to improve its dynamic structure. The result shows: though the quality of optimized body is increased, but it avoids the resonance frequency, which greatly reduce the possibility of resonance, and greatly improve the dynamic performance of the cabinet.
