Abstract: Instrument panels provide the main platform for drivers to obtain all kinds of parameters of automobiles, as well as make the principal work environment where drivers steer their wheels. A properly designed instrument panel not only reduces chances of misoperation by drivers but also effectively relieves fatigue of them, thus increasing security coefficient in driving. This article makes an analysis on the ergonomics in several kinds of automobile instrument panels and gives a discussion about ergonomics in the design of automobile instrument panels and its future direction of development.

Abstract: In recent years, floods and earthquakes occur frequently and cause great threats and harm to personal safety. On the basis of my patent named anti-seismic bed, which patent id is 200920287683.8, the flood control and anti-seismic bed is proposed. The anti-seismic bed doesn’t need external power supply and storage battery. When an earthquake occurs, the protection device starts and then an circular arch are formed by rotating protection boards. people are protected in bed body in 0.765s. When floods occur, flood protection airbag is filled with gas and launched by the Atmel89C52 microprocessor and YDE-WDT-P sensors. Bed body can float in the flood. Its functions are similar to the rescue boat and can protect human life’s safety.

Abstract: Based on the current status of the development of the market for office furniture, an entry point is to study the design of man-machine relationship, research and analyze the defects and problems about existing office furniture, Thus devise a sit, stand dual desk, It can not only achieve the basic functions of their office, but also allows to bring workers a different sports experience in the office at the same time, and improve work efficiency.

Abstract: The R&D Program of the Brazilian Electricity Sector has recently begun to encourage the newly developed technologies transference to market through R&D projects. However, the lack of adequate methodological references for project planning led the authors to propose a model to assist the energy utilities and research teams in the elaboration of R&D projects proposals for the electricity sector. In this context, this paper presents a case study of the Integrated Product Development Model Oriented for R&D Projects of the Brazilian Electricity Sector (MOR&D) application to elaborate a project of pioneer lot for a newly developed of a safety equipment with the incentives of the R&D Program, showing that, as in industry, a well-structured model may be the way to generate innovative projects and products, meeting completely the guidelines that all electric utilities are subject.

Abstract: Purpose – Currently, the device development process for assisting disabled dogs does not provide the best performance and there are only few product developments.This research aims to develop an innovation development process for dogs with two disables hind legs, especially dogs in Thailand, which can be domestically produced domestically and can meet the needs of users at an appropriate price. Design / methodology / approach – Research methodology is divided into 4 steps: literature review and framework building, action research, innovation product acceptance and satisfaction test, and test of better life qualify of dogs with two disabled hind legs. This research explores both public and private veterinary hospitals by inquiring the needs and comments from twenty dog anatomy, metallurgy and design experts as well as innovation development process experts and leaders towards the usage of this product. Finding – Innovation development processes for dogs with two disabled hind legs in both case studies are similar. In order to build an effective development, the critical success factor is a new mutual work in creating an innovation development of such product for public veterinary hospitals, business owners, and associations that support disabled dogs. The researchers have developed the process in the areas where they potentially expect to gain support from public veterinary hospitals, business owners, and associations that support disabled dogs in order to reduce redundant steps and focus on the most beneficial steps which are important for the development. This research proposes a 5D model for innovation development process for dogs with two disabled hind legs, which includes Discovery, Definition, Design, Development and Deployment. This 5-D process is useful for the developers in producing the quality of product development. Practical implications – The finding is important for management of organization strategies regarding the innovation development process for relevant industries. Originality / value – This research explains a connection between strategies, innovation development factors and process, and R & D concerns for innovation development process for dogs with two disabled hind legs, both in public and private sectors. The 5D process provides an innovative 5D model of product innovation development process to improve the quality of product development and reduce redundant working steps. The collaboration of public and private sectors will be shown in each process with 5D model tools.

Abstract: The interoperability among a variety of systems, in or across manufacturing enterprises, has been widely accepted as one of the important factors that affects the efficiency of production. The aim of this study is to deal with the semantic interoperability issues in a product lifecycle management environment. Through the investigation of related works, the need for the formalization of semantic annotation was discovered. This paper addresses this drawback and introduces a framework that uses formalized semantic annotations to assist the knowledge interoperability along a product life cycle.

Abstract: “The slow lifestyle” objects to excessive consumption and waste, but advocates the design of simplicity, economy and humanity. A too speedy lifestyle will surely exert influence on people’s health and not conform to the life essence, which has something in common with the viewpoint of moderate “putting-down” posed by Buddhism. It’s a wise choice to “put down” those unhealthy lifestyles and designs having nothing to do with boosting life quality.

Abstract: Integrated Product Development Process (IPDP) oriented for Assistive Technology (AT) usually engages multidisciplinary areas for design development. The involvement of professionals from different areas contributes to strengthening the IPDP phases, but a major barrier is the correct interpretation and understanding of the information shared by them, which allows the addressing of the product’s requirements and the feeding of the design structure. This paper aims to outline the first steps of the IPDP oriented for TA using the Integrated Definition Methods (IDEF) tool applied to a device design to assist in the training of athletes with visual disabilities. This step of the process focused on Object-Oriented Design Method (IDEF4) and Ontology Capture Method (IDEF5) from IDEF family. The result shows that through the use of the IDEF method oriented for the design of an AT product, the information sharing and the design global aspect to all team members was favored, promoting better communication.

Abstract: Environmental problem is a social important problem which demanding prompt solution in current and even long time with no doubt. Sustainable design plays an increasingly important role in the realization of sustainable development of human society.As an important sustainable eco-friendly material in modern product design,Bamboo’s natural attributes,processing attributes, design attributes,etc are analyzed in this article so as to get its inspiration to modern product design. Through elaborating design development and exploring innovative design methods of modern bamboo products design at home and abroad, the article stressed the importance of the traditional bamboo materials for today's sustainable design.
