Abstract: The paper mainly summarizes the method of immobilized microorganism£¬selection the carrier, and application of immobilization technology and wastewater treatment progress. Ammonia-nitrogen wastewater and refractory organic wastewater, heavy metal wastewater, printing and dyeing wastewater, oily wastewater and several kinds of wastewater treatment of immobilized are introduced respectively. And points out what the problem should be solved that applied the laboratory application to the real engineering practice.

Abstract: Antioxidant activities of acetone and ethyl acetate extracts from Metaplexis japonica Makino, one of famous medicine plants in the eastnorth region of China, named luomo in Chinese, were examined by a DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) radical-scavenging assay and a β-carotene-linoleic acid test. In DPPH, the antioxidant activity of the acetone extracts, ethyl acetate extracts and derivative were IC50 were 313.21, 266.92 and 118.78μg/mL, respectively. In the β-carotene-linoleic acid test, IC50 were 285.09, 351.57 and 123.89μg/mL. It was concluded that Metaplexis japonica Makino and its derivatives might be a potential natural source of antioxidants .

Abstract: A novel actinomycete, Streptomyces sp. Dagang-2 was isolated from the oil contaminated soil, which has a high homology of 98.59% with Streptomyces macrosporeus strain AM2-8. Purple pigment was purified from this strain, which showed a high chemical stability of acid-base, heat and light. Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were selected to evaluate the inhibition ability of purple pigment combined with microcalorimetric analysis and oxford cup method. The purple pigment showed a striking inhibition effect on Gram-positive bacteria S. aureus, however, it did not emerge an obvious antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative bacteria E. coli. It also could reflect the dynamic process of inhibiting effect to bacteria from purple pigment using microcarlorimetric technique. These results of this study might be useful for gaining more understanding of inhibition mechanisms from purple pigment.

Abstract: Ninhydrin chromogenic reactions are widely used to analyze and characterize amino acids, peptides, and proteins. In this study, the spectroscopy behavior of ninhydrin reaction with mercapto amino acid and polypeptide has been investigated. The maximum absorption wavelength of glutathione reaction with ninhydrin was 568 nm; the maximum absorption wavelength of cysteine reaction with ninhydrin was 457 nm. Under the optimized wavelength condition, glutathione and cysteine in the certain concentration range exhibt good linear relationship and low detection limit.

Abstract: A new system for the controlled release of rose perfume is presented. Mesoporous SBA-15 and KIT-6 materials as controlled-release agent are synthesized via hydrothermal method. Rose perfume was introduced into the pores of SBA-15 and KIT-6 via the incipient wetness impregnation method. This silica reservoir maintained a slow release of rose perfume over more than 10h. Rose perfume release was controlled by configurational diffusion in the SBA-15 and KIT-6 pores having free diameters of less than 12 nm. The release of rose perfume was tuned by adapting pore diameter and temperature. By fitting the release data, the results show that the release actions of rose perfume in SBA-15 and KIT-6 are consistent with Korsmeyer-Peppas model and First-order’model respectively.

Abstract: To evaluate water quality, an investigation of phytoplankton community was conducted in Taizi River of Liaoyang Area, June 2011. The results showed that 130 species of phytoplankton belong to 6 phyla and 63 genera existed. Chlorphyta has the richest species of algae, which accounted for 43.85% of the total number, followed by Bacillariophyta (32.41%). Water quality in upstream is better than downstream. Species and biomass of Cyanophyta and Euglenophyta which have tolerance of pollution increasing According to the integrative analysis result of Shannon-Wiener diversity index, Pielou Evenness index and Margalef Species diversity index, Taizi river is judged belong to low-polluted or oligo- polluted, but some sites belong to β -moderate polluted, effective managements should be taken in order to control the water pollution.

Abstract: Phosphate-solubilizing bacteria were extensively studied in many environment. However, little is known about them in drill cuttings, as wastes from drilling process. A phosphate-solubilizing bacterium strain PSB13 was isolated from petroleum-contaminated drill cuttings. This strain was identified as Pseudochrobactrum sp. based on its 16S rDNA sequence and phenotypic characteristics. This strain could solubilize 97.6 μg/ml phosphates in 6 days when grown in NBRIP liquid medium. The increase in solubilization of phosphate coincided with the drop in pH, which indicates organic acid was responsible for the phosphate-solubilization. Phosphate-solubilizing bacterium was reported in drill cuttings for the first time, which suggests its potential in the bioremediation of petroleum-contaminated drill cuttings.

Abstract: Fe3+/Ce4+ doped TiO2 particles was prepared and used for degradation of phenol solution, the macrokinetics and mechanism of degradation process was proposed by GC-MS, and Fe3+/Ce4+-doped TiO2 particles before and after treated phenol was also compared by TEM. The experimental results showed that COD degradation reactions in static and dynamic cycle process are in accordance with first-order kinetics from the macro effects, phenol can be oxidized to intermediates, such as isobutyric acid, malonic acid, para-benzoquinone, butenic acid, ethanedioic acid, maleic acid, butanedioic acid, o-dihydroxybenzene, paradioxybenzene and dioxybenzene, indicating that Fe3+/Ce4+-doped TiO2 particles are beneficial to some oxidation formation. Moreover, the shapes of Fe3+/Ce4+-doped TiO2 particles after treated phenol displays aggregated.

Abstract: Bacteriorhodopsin (BR) is a light driven proton pump firstly found in the membrane of halophilic archaea. BR absorbs wide range of visible light with high quantum efficiency. To elucidate the sensitizing effect of BR, we tested the photocatalytic degradation of phenol with BR-sensitized TiO2 nanoparticles and compared with that of Alizarin red (AR). When the concentration of BR was 13.1 mg/L (4.9×10-7 mol/L), 23.8% of phenol was degradated after 2 hours of light irradiation. The degradation percentage was 3.5 times higher than that with TiO2 nanoparticles alone and similar to that sensitized by AR (20.1%). The possibilities and approaches to increase the sensitizing performance of BR were discussed.

Abstract: Telomeric DNA of human chromosomes plays a significant role in physiological processes such as cell cycle, aging, cancer and genetic stability due to its special sequence and structure. The research on small molecule ligands targeting G-quadruplex formed by such special sequence has attracted considerable attention, and has achieved great breakthrough. In this paper, we summarize the DNA sequences and structures of three kinds of typical human telomeric G-quadruplex, providing an important reference for further research.
