Advanced Materials Research
This work on the latest advances in, and applications of, manufacturing engineering and automation comprises 576 peer-reviewed papers selected (for quality and relevance) from the over 1000 papers originally submitted by universities and industrial concerns all over the world. The papers specifically cover the topics of modern design theory and technology, advanced manufacturing technologies, modeling, analysis and simulation of manufacturing processes, automation and control, materials science and technology and the dynamics of mechanisms and systems. Readers are thus provided with a broad overview of the latest advances in the field of manufacturing engineering and automation.
These proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Advanced Materials and Information Technology Processing (AMITP 2012), held on the 17 and 18th October 2012 in Taipei, Taiwan, hold to the theme of "Materials Science, Mechanical Science and Information Technology". The objective of the conference was to bring together researchers from academia and industry, as well as others, in order to share ideas, problems and solutions related to Advanced Materials and Information Technology Processing.
The volume covers a wide range of materials research and maintains a good balance of theoretical and applied work. In keeping with the present trend the number of papers in Nanomaterials in the highest with a good number in Electronic Materials and Energy Storage Materials. Reflecting the varied interests of the Department there are quality papers on Metallurgical themes such as Metal Casting, Mechanical Processing and Materials Joining.
Advanced materials offer exceptional properties and permit engineers to design novel and high-quality products. These peer-reviewed papers cover major topics such as nano, ferroelectric, magnetic, meta, polymer, non-linear optical, composite, thermoelectric, bio, catalytic–inorganic, semiconductor and superconducting materials. It is hard to imagine a more wide-ranging treatment of such materials.
The proceedings of the International Conference on Advanced Composite Materials and Manufacturing Engineering (CMME2012), held on the 13 and 14th October 2012 in Beijing, China, comprise 94 peer-reviewed papers grouped into: Advanced Composite Materials and Composite Properties of Materials; Materials and Mechanics Studies in Manufacturing Engineering; Materials Engineering and Materials Application Engineering.
This work brings together some 280 peer-reviewed papers on Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Engineering. It will certainly serve to promote the development of Chemical, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, the strengthening of international academic cooperation and communication, and the exchange of research ideas offering, as it does, a broad overview of the latest advances in the field of Materials and Chemical Engineering.
