Abstract: On the basis of static analysis, the stiffness model of the parallel grinding machine tool is
established from the 3-TPS parallel grinding machine tool newly designed by Northeastern
University. By analyzing its stiffness matrix, the optimal objective is given which is the average of
the twenty condition numbers of stiffness matrix corresponding to the twenty positions in the
margin areas of the workspace. With MATLAB software, the effects are simulated which the
structural parameters of the parallel grinding machine tool have on their stiffness, their change laws
are gained, and then the stiffness design of the parallel grinding machine tool are conducted based
on these laws.

Abstract: The grinding quality assessing is a complex decision-making process, which must
optimize and balance multi-influence factors. A grinding quality assessing method based on fuzzy
synthetic evaluation theory combined with analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is presented in this
paper, and used to quality assessing for grinding process. The result of analyzing example indicates
that this method can be used to estimate grinding quality based on the monitoring result of grinding
process and grinding condition, and to assist grinding worker to select optimum grinding parameters
for the steady grinding quality.

Abstract: Enhancing the cooling to spread heat in the process of the material cutting and milling
has positive effect on increasing the efficiency of cutting and milling and assuring the apparent
mass of test sample cut and milled. Basing on the experiment about the mixture of fixed pressure,
fixed air and different quantity of water atomizing jet cooling the Ti alloy, this article discusses
performance and regulation of phase transformation heat—transfer of simulating grinding Ti alloy
forced air cooling by the mixture of fixed pressure, fixed air and little water.

Abstract: In grinding of grooved cam, the programming for NC machining can’t directly be
accomplished according to track curve of roller center in working drawing because the diameter of
wheel becomes smaller than diameter of cam’s follower roller after wheel dressing. Track curves of
wheel center are equidistant curves of the track curve of roller center and they can be gained by
equidistant offset. But track curves of wheel center can’t be gained by equidistant offset for grooved
cam with discretional plane curve profile, due to the profile including aspheric curves whose
equations are usually unknown. To solve above problem, circular arc approximation for the aspheric
curve part was realized by using Approximate Double Circular Arc Interpolated Method
(ADCAIM), then equidistant offset of circular arcs was carried out by “offset” way, and
consequently track curves designed for wheel center of any diameter can expediently be gained on
AutoCAD platform. Validation experiment of simulation grinding was fulfilled on a NC milling
machine. The experiment results indicate: it is feasible to NC grind grooved cam with discretional
plane curve profile using the method introduced in this paper for the example.

Abstract: The superhard abrasive tools are usually made by the electroplating abrasive method. The
electroplating quality has the directly effect on the life and the performance of the superhard
abrasive tools. The electroplating technology is the major factor which influences the electroplating
qualityy. The plating pretreatment and plating nickel processes in the basic electroplating
technology were improved in this paper. The deburring, the oil removing by electrochemistry, the
anode dispose procedures and a set of new electroplating technology about incoming slot with
electronics and impact current in the plating nickel process were brought forward in this paper and
the experiment research was taken as well. The result of the experiment which used the new
technology showed that the binding power on the plating tier was enhanced, the electroplating
quality was advanced; secondly, the effects of the parameters such as the directions for the
electroplating solution, the current density, the temperature of the electroplating solution and PH
values on the electroplating quality were studied in the experiment. Finally the optimization result
was gained.

Abstract: The axiomatic design theory is applied with the product design knowledge expression of
abrasive machine tools, making it possible to convert the implicit knowledge created in the study
process into the explicit knowledge that will be shared all over the organization. The design
knowledge created in the design and developing processes is divided into functional requirements,
design parameters, design constraints and design coupling. In this paper, not only has the
function-structure knowledge information mapping been analyzed, but also the implementation steps
of product knowledge expression have been provided. Moreover, the matter-element model of the
product design heterogeneous knowledge of the abrasive machine tool is established and the
heterogeneous knowledge semantic rule is described. Finally, through a case of product design
knowledge expression which is applied to the MLL60 abrasive flow machining tool, the correctness
and practicality of this method are verified.

Abstract: In order to fulfill the thermal error modeling of precision abrasive machining, a neural
networks model is presented through analyzing thermal error sources of the grinding machine, the
structure and algorithm of the neural networks is expatiated then;And because of reasonable sample
and systematical training, the accuracy of thermal error models is improved. The hardware system
for thermal error compensation is proposed finally, and an experiment is accomplished on the
grinding machine. The result shows thermal errors is reduced from 6μm to 1μm.

Abstract: This paper describes the conventional machining method on turbine blade, brings
forward a reasonable method which can polishing free-form surface with abrasive belt grinding
technology by CNC, expatiates this new grinding machine structure design and CAM software key
techniques , finally summarizes this new grinding techniques and machine.
