Predicting Model of Blanking Process Noise by Hardness of Sheet Metals

Article Preview

Abstract:

Based on relation between blanking pressure and materials’ mechanical properties, mainly HV hardness and tensile strength of sheet metals, a model of maximum blanking process noise emission presented in previous paper was further deduced mathematically, then two new predicting models were obtained. In order to test these two predicting models, corresponding experimental studies have been done using HV hardness and tensile strength of selected sheet steels, sheet aluminum and sheet coppers. Final results show that the established 3 models are correct, among which the predicting method using HV hardness of sheet metals is the most simple and practical method. Consequently, a simple and feasible method is presented to predict maximum blanking process noise emission by using sheet metals’ mechanical properties.
