Cutting parameters are the important factors that significantly influence surface roughness of the machined parts.
Seven levels were selected for each of the four factors.
The steel is widely used for pressure die casting, extrusion and hot forging because of its excellent comprehensive mechanical properties such as good red hardness and roughness.
The nominal chemical composition and material properties of AISI H13 steel are given in Table 3 and 4, respectively.
(3) where, η is the value of S/N ratio (unit: dB), yi is the value of surface roughness for the experiment in each factor/level combination (unit: μm), n is the number of combined noise factors.

The basic aim was to investigate the correlation between the wear volume and other
mechanical properties (hardness, indentation fracture toughness) of this ceramic composite, and to
find a mathematical model, which can predict the wear volume of the investigated materials.
Inhomogeneity analysis and their influence on the mechanical properties of the tested composites are published [2].
Wear is a complex system property, which is dependent on many factors (i.e. contact geometry, surface roughness, microstructure, fracture toughness, speed, load, humidity, temperature, etc.).
As a first step Eq. (1) was used to assess the wear volume because of its simplicity, i.e. requiring only two material properties.

Drag, which typically takes the form of pressure head losses within a pipe, is one of the factors that contributes to the decrease in flow rate.
Brandfellner et al. showed that with 100 ppm of PAM can reduce the drag by up to 80% and the performance of the DRA affected by other factor including molecular weight distribution of the additives [5].
On the other hand, biopolymers, such as guar gum and xanthan gum, have been studied widely for their DR properties and mechanical stability under turbulent flow conditions.
Finally, the recorded viscosity reading was analyzed to determine the fluid’s properties.
Thus, it can be concluded that the HL solutions exhibit Newtonian behavior as the introduction of natural polymer did not affect the apparent rheological properties of the liquid [10].

In the low matric suction stage, matric suction mainly contribute to shear strength by affecting the cohesion, yet in the high matric suction stage by increasing both the internal friction angle and cohesion; in the transition matric suction stage, the contribution of cohesion decreases while the contribution of internal friction angle increases.

Mechanical method.
(iii) Mechanical and chemical method.
In this way, the properties of different coating materials are compared to decide which one is desirable.
The thermophysical properties of the material are shown is Table 1.
Because of these factors, its machining mechanism is much different from that of WEDM-LS.

The determination of the actual mechanical properties of materials, for existing structure, it is possible by means of an appropriate sampling and laboratory testing.
On the other hand, a wide-range of these mechanical properties can be observed within the same structure.
Therefore, the Italian codes [10] require the use of the so-called “confidence factors” (FC), which are closely linked to the level of knowledge achieved in the experimental investigations.
The concrete behaviour is significantly affected by the amount of transverse reinforcement through the confinement effect.
For this reasons, it was considered necessary to set some procedural rules about the choice of the constitutive laws of materials, finite element modelling of the structure and definition of the non-linear properties.

Several parameters of casting process such as melt superheat, preheating temperature of mold, thermal conductivity of coating and flux powder, which affect the temperature distributions in both cast pipe and mold and the changed positions of melt solidifying at last are investigated.

The channels that can be seen in the
centre of the plate are usually obtained by mechanical methods, which submit the graphite plate to
stress.
The advantage of this method when compared to others is the fact that there is no contact with the surface, thus not affecting it and, even so, allowing measurement precisions up to 25µm.
The properties of the plate are presented on the table 1 [8,9].
A parameter to account for is the reflection factor of this kind of material.
Depth measurements were less affected by this phenomenon, only showing an uncertainty of less than 10%.

Abstract: In this paper, the ultrasonic shot peening (USSP) technology was used to obtained surface nanocrystalline of 20 carbon steel.
Therefore, its fatigue resistance, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance can be improved by enhancing material surface properties of metal construction, which is of great significance to prolong the life of metal construction.
It is well known when grain size of the materials decrease to nanoscale or sub-micron, material properties tend to become isotropic, which improves the material surface hardness and strength effectively.
Thus, the scholars have widely studied the method of material surface nanometer and properties of nanocrystallization materials.
But there are many factors that affect the corrosion resistance of nanocrystallization material, such as the character of alloying element, grain size, grain construction and so on.
