Compared
with powders without Al, adding 0.10-0.20 Al to the starting materials can obviously accelerate the
reaction extent, improve purity of Ti3SiC2 powder.
Adding Al can compensate deficiency of Si to some extent.
Thus, the most optimal Al addition is believed to be that appropriate content (adding 0.10-0.20 Al).
