In the past two decades, the use of microwave technique has attracted a considerable amount of attention, owing to its successful application in organic and inorganic synthesis of nanomaterials, material sciences, polymer chemistry, nanotechnology, and biochemical processes. 
The patterns are in good agreement with hexagonal structure with cell parameters a=b=0.7187nm and c= 0.735nm, α=β=90º, γ =120º known for bulk LaF3 (JCPDS card No.32-0483) [18].
This shows that the original structure of LaF3 may be retained even after the modification. [21].

It has been reported [11] that AlN appears to be the most promising heterogeneous nucleation agent for Mg alloys, because AlN has a simple HCP structure with lattice parameters of a = 0.312 nm and c = 0.4988 nm [13], which are very close to the lattice parameters of the Mg matrix (HCP structure with a = 0.3209 nm and c = 0.5211 nm).
Further work is required to obtain uniformly distributed particles by modifying the melt chemistry, experimental set up and solidification conditions.

Y3+ or other cationic sites are more easily coordinated by F- with an increase of concentration of fluoride ion, which would decrease the energy barrier and result in the appearance of an ordered hexagonal structure.
By changing the molar ratio of fluoride to Ln3+, different sizes of NaYF4 NPs over the range of 40 nm to 1 µm can be obtained, and a transformation of crystal structure from the cubic phase to the hexagonal phase can perform in mild conditions.

Field-emission scanning electron microscopy, UV-vis transmittance spectra and Contact angle measurement were employed to characterize TiO2films.By the treatment of 500℃ for 2hrs, the nano-structured TiO2 film showed a water contact angle of below 10°andthe relative transmittance to quartz glass of over 90%.
The relationship between roughness and wettability was defined already by Wenzel who stated that adding surface roughness would enhance the wettability caused by the chemistry of the surface [9].
Multilayers comprising TiO2 nanoparticles with nanoporous structures should exhibit hydrophilicity.
