The presence of a dendrite structure points to the possibility of an incomplete or irregularly executed shaft flange heat treatment, which explains the observed scatter in results of all mechanical tests.
It was also determined that there were large non-metallic oxide inclusions in the structure, which occurred in sequences.
Description of Applied Methodology One of the key facets of failure analysis is the ability to make accurate predictions of the strength and probability of fracture for materials within complex load-bearing structures and in the vicinity of a stress concentration.

The coating phase, structure and oxidation resistance were studied, results show that the coating has effectively improved the oxidation resistant property of the matrix graphite samples.
It can be seen that the SiC layers coated on the spherical matrix graphite samples has a complete coating structure and uniform thickness.

Agar gel of 2 % concentration was prepared as a substance model having homogeneous and isotropic structure.
The gelling process in agar is due to the formation of hydrogen bonds in a continuous way [6, 9], which is believed to be stabilized by structured water [10, 11].
Also, the changes of G' and G" as the agar gels 2% structure develops was shown.
The plateau-like graph of storage modulus G' with frequency for n<10 indicated the presence of network structures.
