Precipitation hardening significantly has an effect on their mechanical properties, and in turn reducing the concentration of silicon in Al-Si-Cu alloys results in broadening the temperature range of these alloys, resulting in deterioration of casting properties (this leads to a reduction in fluidity, hot cracking and material tendency) for shrinkage porosity).
