Among all kinds of TE materials, semiconducting silicides which are very environmental-friendly exhibit great potential in power generation due to the abundance of raw materials (price advantage) and excellent oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures.[5] Higher manganese silicides (HMS)[6,7] and magnesium silicide-stannide (MSS)[8,9] are the most promising p-type and n-type TE silicides , respectively, and many positive results have been achieved to improve their TE properties, for example, through doping[10] or nanostructure engineering[11].
