One dimensional (1 D) structures, or nanowires, are expected to play a role in future integrated circuits as both devices and interconnects.
For example, transport mechanisms in semiconductor nanowires have not been rigorously investigated viz., e.g., influence of wire structure and morphology on measured nanowire device electrical parameters.
Using the combined TEM-SPM technique we are currently investigating the electrical and mechanical properties of free-standing metallic and semiconductor nanowires, as a function of wire structure etc., with the aim of developing future nanowire devices.

Both of the anatase and rutile phases have tetragonal crystalline structure with two TiO2 chemical units per unit cell, but they differ in their axial ratio and the symmetry round the oxygen atoms.
The oxide from Degussa was labeled as laboratory reagent with 99.5% purity and primary of anatase structure, while the oxide from Aldrich is 99.9% purity and primary of rutile structure.
The calcinations temperatures were chosen on basis of thermal analysis results of the anatase (P25) structure. 2.2 Characterization The most common positron source is 22Na, which emits a 1.274 MeV γ-quantum coincident with the positron's birth.

The invention relates to the field of production of flame-retardant material designed to protect high-heat-loaded components of the structures from thermal effects.
It was established that between the phases there is a boundary layer, the structure of which depends on the conditions for producing DTEP, the type and ratio of the mixed polymers.

Masuda et al. [4] firstly described the preparation of alumina structure with highly self-assembled porous layer.
Nanopores are straight, uniform with honeycomb structure and perpendicular to the surface of membrane [13].
The next utilized principle is biotin–avidin structure which also serves as a specific recognition element [18].
It is obvious that two steps anodization provides better arrangement of nanopores [25] and thus the first anodization step serves as a template for subsequent alumina growth when the highly arranged structure is initiated.

After the Cd(II) uptake, the surface structure change to smaller size and a huge different in the structure can also be observed after the Cd(II) uptake.
Before the metal uptake, the surface of AC was likely to be as the coral framework structure.
The structure was also become smaller as compared to before the Cd(II) uptake.
