According to Astika et. al., kapok cellulose can be converted to nitrocellulose for propellant application as long as cellulose purities are more than 90% [4].
Gismatulina et. al. had successfully converted bacterial cellulose to nitrocellulose and it was suitable to be used for manufacture of film and nail polish since nitrocellulose produced was below the 12.5% nitrogen content [1].
All samples were characterized based on the following analysis: Elemental analysis was performed by CHN elemental analyzer (Vario EL III, Elementar, Hanau, Germany) to determine nitrogen content (%N) in nitrocellulose.
