Comparison of EDM Properties with Various Other Tool Materials Die Steel (SKD11 in JIS) and tungsten carbide were EDMed using the conditions (ui=90 V, SV=60 V, iP=1.5 A, te/to=5/50 µs, Cu electrode [+]) thought to be suitable and standard for each material, and the results were compared with those of EC-PCD010 and C-PCD010 (Fig.10).
From the fact that machining efficiency of EC-PCD, SKD11 and tungsten carbide was 0.025 mm3/min, 0.052 mm3/min and 0.046 mm3/min, respectively, it was understood that EDM machinability of EC-PCD is almost on the same level of general tool materials.
In addition, it was shown that EC-PCD could be EDM processed in a similar way of EDMing conventional tool materials such as WC or SKD.

Density, specific heat and heat conductivity that indicate thermal characteristics of RC materials were applied as a function according to temperature rise to analyse the transient heat transfer.
Thermal characteristics of materials The building codes of Republic of Korea has not established yet thermal equations on steel materials and concrete.
Therefore, the materials’ thermal characteristics applied in this study adopted the European standard[4,5] which can describe structural behaviors of the domestic RC structures in fire; earlier research such as Park’s[2] is also consulted.
Thermal properties of steel materials and concrete as per temperature rise are shown as in Figure 1 and 2.
Elements of heat transfer applied in concrete, main steel and stirrup modeling are DC3D8 and DC1D2, which are factors of linear heat transfer analysis and also element of materials.

Results and Discussion Characterization of synthesis materials Powder XRD patterns in the range of 1.0~10.0˚ of the three samples were shown in Fig. 1.
The adsorption experiments with different time were carried out to test the ability of the three synthesis materials to remove heavy metal ions in low concentration.

Materials and Experimental Procedures As-sintered silicon nitride ceramic and as-casted 40CrMo alloy were used as base materials.
AgCuTi foil with a thickness of 50µm and Pd foil with a thickness of 10µm were used as raw materials of filler alloy.
The size of the samples of the base materials is 3×4×2mm3.
A compressive load of 4.3×10 -2N was exerted on the samples to contact the base materials and the filler alloy closely.

Meet the practical need to make a design of the spindle system, assuming that the environment temperature is 20 ℃, the machine material is 45 steel, coefficient of thermal conductivity for 65W(m•℃), modulus of elasticity to take 1.7GPa, poisson's ratio is 0.55, the linear thermal expansion coefficient of , sliding friction coefficient of 45 steel is 0.09.
