While the Heusler-type Fe2VAl compound exhibits a semiconductor-like behavior in
electrical resistivity, doping of quaternary elements causes a sharp decrease in the low-temperature
resistivity and a large enhancement in the Seebeck coefficient S.
The aim of this review is to survey our recent studies concerning the thermoelectric properties of the pseudogap Fe2VAl system.
It is clear that electrons serve as a majority carrier for the Si-substituted alloys, being consistent with the Hall effect measurements [14].
Accordingly, positive or negative sign of S can be obtained for the Fe2VAl-based alloys where V atoms are partly replaced by transition elements to the left or right of V, respectively, in the periodic table.

Particularities of inoculation of steel surface layers by non-vacuum electron beam reflowing of self-fluxing alloys have not been studied in detail.
Surface hardening of steels using both self-fluxing alloys and mixtures of these alloys with other powders such as boron is of practical interest.
Any other phases typical of cladding of self-fluxing alloys were not observed.

The surface layers of metals comprising aluminide phases with nanoscale grain parameters will have got a high mechanical strength due to the unique mechanical-and-physical properties of intermetallic compounds and size effects of formed phases.
TiO2 makes the basic contribution to hardening of all alloys.
Unlike FG alloys, in which secondary phases (DsO) make the main contribution, in PC alloys they make the lowest one, whilst internal stresses make the main.
Experiments showed that aluminum ions implanted in type VT1-0 titanium alloy resulted in the considerable increase of the yield stress in the implanted titanium layers due to the formation of nanoscale secondary phases, including such intermetallic compounds as Ti3Al and TiAl3.

Due to the peculiarities of this technological process, 3D-printed alloys differ from traditionally manufactured alloys in their structure and properties.
More specifically it’s as-cast microstructure consists of a Co-based matrix with boundary-distributed precipitates of intermetallic compounds, carbides and carbonitrides ((M7C3, M23C6, s-phase, p-phase, χ-phase) [5], (M2T3X type carbide with β-Mn structure [6]) and (Cr3Co) [7 - 9]).
Selective laser melting (SLM) (also known as Laser Powder Bed Fusion) is reported to be applied for a wide range of alloys including biomedical alloys [14 - 16].

Master alloys were prepared in vacuum induction melting.
Among experimental alloys, the alloys with 3wt.% and 4.2wt.% Ta can be fully solution treated at 1355 ºC for more than 10 h.
However, the alloys contained 4.5wt.% and 6wt.

Compounds of transition metals and rare earths, where electron mechanism of coloring occurs, are the most commonly used glass dyes.
Therefore, the aim of the present study is to prepare the CoO doped silicoborate glasses with different CoO concentrations and to study the effect of CoO content on the chemical compositions, density, refractive index, optical absorption and coloration.

Green inhibitors are generally containing organic compounds.
In many plant extracts, corrosion inhibition activity occurs due to the presence of heterocyclic compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, etc.
The aim of this work is to investigate PILLE corrosion inhibition on low carbon steel in 3.5% NaCl atmosphere.

This study aims to investigate the effect of processing routes (A and Bc) and temperature on microstructure, texture and mechanical properties of pure magnesium was studied in this research.
Introduction Magnesium and its alloys are becoming important structural materials because of its very low density and exceptional strength to weight ratio.
