This edition is the collection of selected peer-reviewed extended papers abstracts of which were presented at the 13th European Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials (ECSCRM 2020-2021), held in Tours, France, in October 2021. During the conference, held for the first time in hybrid mode due to the COVID-19 pandemic, researchers discussed issues in the field of wide bandgap semiconductors, focusing on silicon carbide and related materials. Presented articles cover a wide range of topics divided into four major sections: Material growth and wafer manufacturing; Characterization, modelling and defect engineering; Processing; Power devices and applications. The contributors are worldwide academics and industrialists.
Following the previous publications for the series of “Asia-Pacific Conference on Materials Processing”, this book presents the latest development in this field on new understanding of the underlying mechanisms and new technologies for materials processing to meet the increasing needs of industry.
This book is a collection of selected, peer-reviewed papers contributed from around the world. The topics covered in this book include new development and applications in materials subtractive processes including advanced and non-traditional processes, micro/nano-fabrication, materials forming and additive processes, and new techniques for the processing of materials.
This book provides a valuable reference for researchers in the materials processing field who wish to further understand the underlying mechanisms and create new and practical technologies, systems and processes. It should also be particularly useful for practicing engineers in materials processing who are responsible for the efficient and effective operations.This volume collects the papers from the 16th International Conference on Silicon Carbide and Related Materials (ICSCRM 2015), held in Giardini Naxos, Italy, in October 2015. During the conference, the researchers discussed issues in the field of wide bandgap semiconductors, focusing on silicon carbide, but also III-nitrides, and related materials like graphene.
The major sections of the book collect papers in the area of material growth, characterization, processing, devices and related materials and technologies.
The papers are grouped as follows:
Chapter 1: SiC Growth
Chapter 2: SiC Theory and Characterization
Chapter 3: SiC Processing
Chapter 4: SiC Devices
Chapter 5: Related MaterialsThe first book of the Proceedings of ASCO-Nanomat 2015 includes articles of 41 contributed papers of the third school-conference, which were recommended for publication by Publishing Committee. The articles reflect the new results and scientific achievements in the field of growth and synthesis of new nanomaterials and coatings, technology of their growth and preparation, their physical properties, calculations and modeling of the electronic structure and properties of new nanomaterials. The Proceedings consist of two chapters. In the first one “Semiconducting and Metal Nanoheterostructures: Self-Organization and Characterization” the 14-th articles devoted to atomic processes and nanostructure formation and characterization and ab initio calculations and modeling were collected. In the second chapter named “Nonlinear Optical Mediums, Nanocomposites, Nanostructured Coatings, Functional Materials and their Applications” the 27 articles devoted to formation technology and characterization of different kinds of nanomaterials of organic and non-organic nature were presented. This proceedings volume is intended for scientists, readers, professors and post-graduate students.
The 43 papers are grouped as follows:
Chapter 1: Materials Properties and Application;
Chapter 2: Materials Processing Technologies;
Chapter 3: Surface Engineering, Corrosion and Coatings;
Chapter 4: Biomaterials and Medical Application
The 137 papers are grouped as follows:
Chapter 1: Polymer Matrix Composites;
Chapter 2: Metal Matrix Composites and Interpenetrating Materials;
Chapter 3: Ceramic Matrix Composites;
