Implementing a Renar Accredited System for the Qualification of Welding Execution Personnel. Experience and Overview of 25 Years of Activity in Romania

Abstract:

The article presents developments and perspectives regarding the qualification/certification process of the personnel engaged in welding execution of fabricated structures and/or products. In the beginning data and information related to the certification process of the welders and welding operators are given. Details related to the certification activity, with examinations starting in Romania on behalf of SLV Munchen, in 1995 and continuing at later stage, in the frame of ISIM CERT END. The number of qualification certificates awarded in Romania, with reference to the accredited qualification scheme, is discussed and analyzed. The analysis was realized comparatively mainly, for the last 5 years and also by relating the number of issued certificates with the corresponding welding processes and materials. The last part of the article presents the perspectives of qualifying welding personnel on the Romanian market, perspectives related with the necessity of implementing the European harmonized regulations
