Abstract: Investigation on PBL shear connectors failure modes and their related factors is conducted. On the basis of analysis on the detail mechanism of PBL shear connectors failure modes, the relations between the construction factors and failure modes are summarized. A reasonable way of failure mode is proposed for exerting the material properties of all components in PBL shear connector. As reference to construction and design of PBL shear connector, it is advised that the high strength concrete should be used, and the strength of steel plate should be not less than that of rebar. The position and posture of rebar cannot be ignored.

Abstract: To study the mechanical properties of CFPR steel tube composite columns filled with steel reinforced concrete under different axis compression ratio by adopting 3 specimens of theirs quasistatic tests are carried out. The failure mechanism and test results are analyzed with member of the load-displacement hysteretic curves, skeleton curves. The results show that the axial compression ratio decreases conducive to the improvement of the bearing capacity of specimens. Axial compression ratio has a great influence on the skeleton curve and ductility. Axial compression ratio is higher, the descent stage of the skeleton curve is steeper, the ductility is better. With the increase of the axial compression ratio, the ductility coefficient and energy dissipation capacity is lower.

Abstract: In order to investigate the design method of single tapping screw connections between steel plate and non-steel plate and the applicability of calculating the shear capacity of single tapping screw connections with sheet steel under 2mm according to Chinese code Technical code for design of cold-formed thin-wall steel structures(GB50018-2002),theoretical analysis was carried out on single tapping screw connections, which were distinguished by connection forms called steel plate-steel plate connections and steel plate-non-steel plate connections. The results show that: Chinese code GB50018-2002 is suited to calculate the shear capacity of single tapping screw connections with sheet steel under 2mm and the results are safe compared with test results. The design method of single tapping screw connections between steel plate and non-steel plate is given on the basis of test results.

Abstract: The formation and development of plastic hinge is the basis of the whole process of FRP reinforced concrete eccentricity compression and flexural member nonlinear analysis. The moment-rotation relationship of FRP reinforced rectangular column plastic hinge zone was studied. Its yield and ultimate moment formulas were proposed. The specific values of the moment and rotation were discussed in different modes of failure, retrofitting methods as well as FRP types. A constitutive relationship of FRP reinforced rectangular column plastic hinge zone was established. Based on the constitutive relationship, a pushover analysis of the numerical model is conducted, and the feasibility of its application in Etabs software through cases is verified.

Abstract: Pretensioned spherical reticulated mega-structure is studied in this paper. The cable arrangements and support styles of the main structure are first introduced. The static stabilities including the buckling mode and ultimate load of the pretensioned spherical reticulated mega-structure are then investigated by the ANSYS software. The influences of the key parameters such as the rise-span ratio, height of the 3D trussed beams, and the pretension value of cables on the structural stability are studied. And the optimal cable pretension values of the structures with different cable arrangement styles and different rise-span ratios are also obtained.

Abstract: Buckling restrained brace is an economical tool for shock-absorbing. In this paper, it was used in a high-rise building. The shock-absorbing performance of the brace was analyzed under frequent earthquake condition with engineering software. It was found that with buckling restrained brace, the dynamic characteristics of the structure is changed, and the peak of the dynamic response is suppressed, making the storey drift of the structure meets the regulations.

Abstract: Steel tube and filled concrete of square CFT columns under axial load are in complicated stress condition, the influence of every kind of factors on mechanics performance is difficult to ascertain accurately. On the other hand, neural network is good at obtaining the relationship between input and output variables by self-studying, self-organizing, self-adapting and nonlinear mapping. Therefore, it is suitable that use neural network to calculating the bearing capacity of square CFT columns. In this paper a three-layer back-propagation model of network is trained according to experimental data of square CFT columns under axial load, a neural network model for axial loaded square CFT columns is set up. The model is verified by six groups of experimental data, the results show the predicted values are in good agreement with test values, precision in calculation is good enough to be used as an auxiliary method for structure design.

Abstract: The exploitation of FRP tendon necessitates not only to improve the performances of the FRP tendon and anchoring device but also to examine its structural performances by applying it to various structures like concrete structures. This study applies CFRP tendon on internally and externally post-tensioned concrete specimens so as to observe their flexural performance considering the number of tendons and jacking force as test variables. The tests show that the externally post-tensioned specimens undergo lesser cracks with wider distribution of the cracks than the internally post-tensioned specimens with similar jacking force. In addition, the externally post-tensioned specimens with larger number of saddles experience smaller number of cracks with larger distribution. The specimens without saddle and the internally post-tensioned specimens with the same jacking force exhibit similar behavior until the yielding of the reinforcement to show different behaviors from the time at which the eccentricities of the tendons start to vary after yielding. The externally post-tensioned specimens with saddle provide increased crack load compared to the specimens without saddle, with an increase of approximately 25% of the ultimate load.
