Abstract: This study aims to investigate the optimal value of design parameters for the sound-absorbing nonwoven composite board. The number of laminated layers and thickness of polyester fiber are viewed as the design parameters for fabricating the nonwoven composite board. The 2D, 7D and 12D polyester fibers are individually mixed with 4D low-melting point polyester fiber to produce 2D polyester nonwoven fabric (2D-PETF), 7D polyester nonwoven fabric (7D-PETF) and 12D polyester nonwoven fabric (12D-PETF) respectively. The developed nonwoven fabrics are then used to fabricate 2D-PET, 7D-PET and 12D-PET nonwoven composite boards through the multiple needle-punching and thermal bonding techniques. The sound absorption performance of each PET composite board is carefully examined. The experimental results reveal that the 7D-PET composite board with 10 laminated layers has the optimal sound absorption performance.

Abstract: The bite of Forcipomyia taiwana (F. taiwana) causes intense pruritus and swelling in sensitive skin. Most commercially available F. taiwana repellents are made of N, N-diethyl-3-methylbenzamide synthetic repellents [; however, using them for a long time influences skins, and the nervous and immune system. This study uses the water extracted Cinnamomum osmophloeum Kaneh and Cymbopogon excavates for the Y-tube test, determining the repellent effect of these two extracts and the influence of water extract time on the difference in their repellent effect.

Abstract: In recent years, the improvement of scientific techniques has significantly promoted the quality of peoples lives as well as concepts of health care. This study manufactures bamboo charcoal (BC)/stainless steel (SS) covered yarns, which are then made into four types of elastic BC/SS warp-knitted fabrics. The far infrared emissivity, anion amount, and air permeability of the resulting fabrics are then evaluated to determine the influence of the warp-knit structure and amount of layers. The experimental results show that the far infrared emissivity of BC/SS warp-knitted fabrics decreases when the lamination layer number increases. Single-layer BC/SS warp-knitted fabrics all have a far infrared emissivity beyond 0.8.

Abstract: Common welding defects in ship building and ship repair were intro-duced; the forming mechanisms, distributions and forms of expression of the defects were analyzed, Foundry-Techniques for preventing kinds of defects were given and common methods and application scope of ship welding inspection were concluded.

Abstract: A comparative experimental study on the orthogonal cutting of titanium alloys by a polished tool, a tool containing a chip breaker groove, and a surface-textured tool was performed. The effects of different cutting tools on chip morphology, chip thickness, length and width of crack defects inside the chip, saw-teeth of the chip, and chip curl radius were analyzed during the cutting of a titanium alloy. Compared to chips formed by other tools, curled chip fragments formed by the surface-textured tool exhibited greater thickness and longer crack defect depths but smaller chip tooth pitches and curvature radii. The microstructural mechanisms involved in the interaction between the micro-texture surface cutting tool and the chips were analyzed by evaluating the cutting and texture parameters. The chip-breaking mechanism is that the micro-texture on the tool surface creates a sticky texture, leading to the micro-cutting and wrenching of chips, thereby increasing the magnitude of the tools work-hardening and chip-breaking effects.

Abstract: A designer tends to think of first most is how to give the product a beautiful coat when he faces the product design. He always attempts to hide the parts which is ugly, cluttered, easy to rust from the gorgeous products' shell. However, in today's modern society, exposed design way is more accepted and used, from costumes to buildings, even product today. The popularity of exposed symbol not only shows the sexy female beauty, but also is endued with more significations. How to represent beauty by exposure. How to expose brilliantly and wittily. Where to be exposed to show particular style and resonate with beauty. Actually, exposed design is also a philosophy. So, study how to use the exposed design way to present product design beauty, as well as to build the community and their own personal values. Thus it may be a reliable guide to the product design in the future.

Abstract: With the improvement of the social civilization, culture connotations of design problems have become increasingly prominent. And the cultural elements must integrate into design work to get development. Since cultural and creative product design is the re-exhibition of culture, traditional culture spirit connotation and cultural nutrition should be grasped and absorbed. Reverse engineering is a very important design method which is widely used in product design. Based on reverse engineering, a rapid and high quality creative design method over cultural and creative product design is proposed. The practical design application proves that the proposed method is feasible, of practical significance and application value.

Abstract: Proceeding from the industrial design, the conceptions of product design gene are studied, the knowledge structure of product design gene is analyzed, the hybridization and variability technology of design gene is researched, and the innovation design method based on pan-ethnic group design gene is proposed. And the feasibility and effectiveness of this new method are discussed.

Abstract: Travel souvenir industry is driven by the rapid development of the tourism industry. In the product development process, researching and developing (R&D) strategy needs to be studied in order to obtain the corresponding policy of market positioning, research and development cycle and the development number. According to the survey data, scientific and rational calculations are carried out to maximize the ratio of benefits and costs, the allocation of resources are improve effectively, and market demands and customer needs can be satisfied in a better way.

Abstract: The A new design method of the products named Top-layer Design has been proposed in this paper. From the view of the point of the system engineering, the planning of product design makes the product design qualities improve to a great extent. Besides the understanding of the client requirements, the design planning of products, the so-called 7Ds: Design ideas, Design environments, Design objective, Design process, Design contents, Design methods and the Design quality evaluation, should be considered completely and planned systematically.
