Abstract: The natural ventilation in solar chimney was numerically simulated by computational fluid dynamics method and the effect of solar chimney profiles was discussed. The flow rate through a rectangular solar chimney increased with the solar chimney height. The flow pattern in the chimney was laminar flow when the chimney height was lower than a critical height and then became turbulent flow as the height further increased. When designing the solar chimney, it is important to remember that the critical chimney height should ensure the air flow in the channel could develop to be turbulent in order to get a large flow rate. As the width of the solar chimney increased, the flow rate increased to a peak value and then decreased to a minimum value and then increased again. The reason was due to the curve flow stream and uneven pressure distribution formed when the chimney width increased. A modified chimney profile of linearly tapered solar chimney could remove the reverse flow and improved the flow rate by 25%.

Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the summer indoor thermal environment of new and old two types of rural houses in QiLian Mountain northern foothills area. The method of analysis is field testing. The result shows the relationship between indoor thermal environment and envelope materials, location of rooms. In addition, the influence was Quantified in 1~2° C. Finally, advice put forward to promote the indoor thermal environment.

Abstract: This thesis precisely points out the current situation of our country and the existing problems in the design of indoor house and focuses on the illustration that the consciousness of ecology, energy saving and economic benefit must be carried when dealing with the indoor design of modern house and the strategy of economized design should be adopted, which thus can improve the environmental quality of housing and keep identical with the strategic demand of our countrys sustainable development.

Abstract: The evaluation method of residential building envelope thermal performance in hot-summer and cold-winter area is different from the method of the cold northern regions, that is, the merit of the thermal performance of walls and roofs should not be determined only by the heat transfer coefficient K or thermal resistance R, the impact of the thermal inertia index on the thermal performance of building envelope should also be considered. The analysis results show that, with the different values of thermal inertia index D, the difference of residential summer air-conditioning power consumption is not big, but the difference of residential winter heating power consumption is bigger, therefore, the high thermal inert wall is more conductive to reduce the winter heating power consumption than the low thermal inert wall.

Abstract: This article took the apartments for the elderly in Jinan as the main research object and created the question according to the physiological characteristics, the psychological characteristics, behavioral characteristics of the elderly,Through the study of survey data, many problems of the apartments have been found. How to design green apartments for the elderly from the apartments site planning, interior space and outdoor environments. All the works that have been mentioned above aim to provide a healthy and comfortable living environment for the elderly.

Abstract: In the face of climate change, city development should take into account the concept of energy saving and carbon reduction. This study aims to use 3D building modeling and computer simulation to assess the impact of the residential building balcony on indoor thermal environment. Pufangtian residential building in the northern Taiwan was selected as research object since it was the first to pass the Golden Certification set by Taiwan Green Building Rating System (EEWH). According to the average temperature from 1981-2010 meteorological statistics data issued by Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau, this study had calculated the warmest day & the coldest day as the time for simulation. The simulation results could provide residential building design, in addition to comfort and innovation, with the concept of energy saving and carbon reduction, which will further advance the development of Green Building.

Abstract: This paper explains how the concept of the Huizhou woodcarving motifs is associated with the ancient architecture which came under the influence of Chinese culture. The motifs created have been found to be adapted to Confucian thought. Generally, the Huizhou woodcarving motifs have its own guiding principles which the function and style combine strongly. Basically, the Huizhou woodcarving motifs can be categorized into decorative motifs or patterns which include flowers, birds, landscape, characters, living scene, mascots and so on. Discussion on the Huizhou Woodcarving Motifs is significative things. Redesign the motifs can preserve the traditional culture and improve art in China.

Abstract: We have directed at the climatic and residential environments and local residents of western China. It is founded on Japan-China joint research, built on physical measurements and questionnaire surveys that enable healthy and sustainable development, on the basis of assessment of the climate and environmental characteristics of western China. Additionally, the project aims at proposing convenient methods to protect people against the adverse health effects of climate change, looking at inhabitants. Focusing our attention on the state of housing in rural parts of Sunan Yugur autonomous county and on the characteristic abundance of natural energy resources, we set out to develop a new model for energy-efficient housing adapted to available natural energy sources. This Bio-Village concept is one of the nomad settlement plan, and in consideration the lifestyle coexisting the traditional life and livestock industry, we aim to achieve compatibility of local business development and energy conservation village.

Abstract: Nowadays, with the growing popularity of dynamic LED advertising signs, the light trespass caused by these signs is being taken more and more seriously. This study analyzes experimentally how various flickering cycles affect the visual fatigue of residents who read in the room adjacent to these signs. According to the results of the research, an increase in the flickering cycle of the sign corresponds with a decrease in the degree of disturbance to adjacent residents. Moreover this study suggests that the flickering cycle of a dynamic LED advertising sign should be set above four seconds to ensure minimal discomfort.
