Abstract: Emergency evacuation is an important issue in fire safety. In this study, a cellular automaton (CA) model in which the human behaviour termed ‘flow with the stream’ is considered is proposed to simulate the procedure of emergency evacuation. Based on the CA model, the influence of the number of guiders to the evacuation from a large compartment is analyzed through numerical test. The result shows that the proposed CA model is a promising tool that may be used in fire safety design.

Abstract: The phenomenon of ghosting fire development in underground confined space is simulated to analyze the impacts of ghosting fire generation via some conditions -- different air vent sizes and different fire source areas. FDS is used to establish a physical model of underground fire laboratory in Northeastern University, the simulation is conducted by setting two parameters, the air vent size and the fire source area. The fire heat release rate, temperature, concentration of CO, O2 are measured to analyze the case of ghosting fire generation in underground confined space with different air vent sizes and different fire source areas. It’s most likely to generate ghosting fire when the simulating parameter is that the air vent size is 0.4m × 0.4m and the fire source area is 0.96m2. The conclusion is that increasing the air vent size is not a simple ascending and descending relationship with the occurrence time and duration time of the ghosting fire. Increasing the fire source area can improve the fire heat release rate effectively, and promote the formation of ghosting fire.

Abstract: Super early-strength composite fiber concrete has been widely used. Seismic Performance of super early-strength composite fiber concrete columns needs to be known after high temperature, quasi-static tests under different high temperatures are experimented. The experiment showed that: the downtrend of hysteretic curves and skeleton curves are consistent, but reductions for both hysteretic curves and skeleton curves are diverse after different duration.

Abstract: In recent years, frequent fires and earthquake make the buildings damage badly, and it causes huge economic loss. Concrete filled double skin steel tubular (Hereinafter referred to as CFDST) as a new member of structure, its mechanical properties are similar to concrete filled steel tubular,at the same time has better fire performance and seismic capacity. Based on this background, the paper expounds study the mechanical performance of CFDST is very important, the hysteretic behavior is the main mechanical indexes of the seismic performance of CFDST after exposure to fire. The study of it will fill the new component in the blank of seismic performance research.

Abstract: The method of structural vulnerability assessment presented in this paper is closely in accordance with the definition based on two aspects, strain energy of structure and damage demand of members. The search process of damage scenarios was carried out by an example of truss structure, and the results of analyses included importance factor of members, damage scenarios with the minimum number of killed members, and local damage occurred in advance. The influence of loading on member importance factor and vulnerability index was discussed and it showed that though with the agreement of general trend, the rank of importance factor or VI index under a specified scenario varied greatly. The analysis could be utilized as the proof of measures to enhance structural capacity to meet the extreme event.

Abstract: Hydropower reservoirs change the local geo-environment greatly and often induce reservoir bank landslides. Hongyanzi landslide is a large rejuvenated ancient landslide in Pubugou Hydropower Station reservoir area in western China Sichuan Province. To study the deformation of the Hongyanzi landslide, we arranged multi-parameter monitoring using GPS, fixed borehole tilt-meter, osmometer, and crack-meter and collected continuous data of displacement and ground water table. The monitoring data, together with the reservoir water level data, show that the landslide deforms obviously during reservoir water level is falling, while it deforms little in the other period. Comprehensive analysis of the deformation and reservoir water level implies that the seepage force caused by water level difference between the inner and outer slope may be the key factor. Through regression analysis, the authors established a forecast model for landslide deformation based on ground water table and reservoir water level; thus concluded that reducing the falling velocity of reservoir water level may slow the landslide deformation down.

Abstract: High-strength prestressed cables were main bearing parts in single-layer cable mesh point-supported glass curtain wall structures, and it was always unable to take effective fire prevention measures on steel cables due to small sections. That the elastic modulus and yield strength of prestressed cables decreased sharply under fire conditions would threaten safety performance of the whole structure seriously. When glass breakage is considered and not considered, nonlinear finite element complete-process analysis for the single-layer cable mesh point-supported glass curtain wall structure was conducted. Influences of various factors on structure mechanical performance were studied under fire conditions. Through the calculation analysis of different joint constraint models, the ultimate temperature table suitable for different sizes and cable spacing of glass curtain walls was obtained under uniform heating conditions, and proposals for fire-resisting design were given.

Abstract: Due to the complicated coal mine flooding water quality monitoring data, in order to extract the effective data from vast amounts of data, this article used the fuzzy clustering to analyze the monitoring data processing. This study makes a brief analysis of monitoring data structure, then analyzes the shortcomings of fuzzy C mean clustering algorithm (FCM),which also proposes fuzzy C-means algorithm based on particle swarm optimization (PSO-FCM). Finally samples of the underground water data are used to carry out the instance simulation. The experiment results showed that in dealing with data samples. The algorithm had some advantages and it was worthy of research.
