Abstract: This paper presents the new, theoretical idea for a short range, city transportation system typology. Taking people’s expectations as a major concern, the idea aims to improve travel comfort by creating a sustainable and efficient system of communication. The short review of various visions for cities development, as well as analysis of current research are presented as a background for the new solution. Then, the analysis of present, data-based environment indicates a high level of society’s dependency on the Internet and Mobile connections. Finding a strong relation between transportation and IT sector, the paper exposes the necessity of interdisciplinary approach towards innovative communication solutions. Questioning the current model of ownership-oriented society, the proposal introduces a shift towards sharing-oriented tendencies. On that basis, idea of the system of shared between users, self-driving vehicles is established. Moreover, architectural intervention into traditional street typology is introduced. Vertical division of separate functions, allowing unobstructed flow of people and vehicles, creates a possibility to adopt existing street level for accommodating additional functions. By incorporating theoretical model into the city of Singapore, certain decisions about combining newly designed idea with existing underground MRT system infrastructure were stated. Putting stress on the holistic, multidisciplinary approach to the idea of future mobility, it is inevitable to introduce various fields of research into the process. Only by connecting administrative decisions, architectural statements and technology (IT) development can a coherent vision of future be proposed.

Abstract: Based on the coupling of PC-Crash program and MADYMO software, thekinematics laws of pedestrian in the contact process for automobile-pedestrian collision are analyzed through modeling and simulation by establishing vehicle model and pedestrian model, and selecting main influencing factors on contact phase as independent variables for simulation tests.

Abstract: The external traffic environment has a big influence to the traffic safety during the area of traffic conflict place, and to analysis the relationship between the external traffic environment factors and driving safety is helpful to improve the traffic safety. The method of comprehensive analysis the historical data and expert survey data is used to explore this question. And at the same time, the collision risk prediction model during the traffic conflict place is built by the Bayesian network. According to the data analyzing, the node variable, the state of variable and the conditional probability table of this model is also built. Finally, the software of Hugin is used to deal with the posteriori probability of collision risk, and the result proved that this model can predict the collision risk accurately during the traffic conflict area, and the data analyzing showed that the factor of the driver's intention, the vehicle speed and the headway have a significance influence to the traffic safety.

Abstract: This paper proposes a method of vehicle’s model classification based on stereo vision. First, we find features that horizontally separated shape of vehicle are selected because of coming into view well after matching. After extracting a side outline of vehicle using a vertical stereo camera, vehicle is classified with normalized vehicle’s front-side image. As a result of experiment, our method shows an improved 1.62 [%] compared with a method using a vehicle’s front-side image only [6].

Abstract: To strengthen and improve the movement of cars in real-time location tracking to monitor in order to improve operational efficiency and ensure traffic safety of the vehicle is particularly urgent, global system for mobile communication system GSM (Global System of Mobile communication) has been developed to the 3G era and geographic information systems GIS (Geographic Information System) of rapid development, so that based on GPS / GSM tracking feasibility sports car positioning monitoring system design is growing. In this paper, GPS / GSM mobile vehicle as the monitoring terminal hardware platform combined with GIS positioning tracking and monitoring center software design in VC ++ environment, in order to reduce the GPS module positioning error, system application Kalman filter algorithm for GPS data filtering to increase GPS the positioning accuracy.

Abstract: With the economic development and urbanization, the number of motor vehicles increased rapidly, because the contradictions between urban traffic supply and demand imbalances are becoming increasingly acute. We used the cell transmission model (CTM) to optimize on the basis of a single intersection by observing the delay time and the traffic capacity, research into the intelligent urban traffic signal control system, improve the operating efficiency of the existing transportation system. To a certain extent, it addresses the issue of urban traffic congestion.

Abstract: A method for description of structural characteristics of air traffic situation based on the theory of complex network was proposed. This method characterizes the air traffic situation from three dimensions, including single aircraft, local sector, and overall sector. We selected the routinely-recorded flight data in an air traffic control sector within China's airspace in 2013. With the aircrafts in the sector regarded as nodes, and with the between-aircraft proximity relations as edges, we constructed an undirected and unweighted aircraft network. The results show that network node degree can distinguish the key aircraft in the sector; the network connection rate reflects the proximity of aircrafts; the clustering coefficient identifies the presence of high-density aircraft group.

Abstract: A multi-factor linear regression model was developed to describe and estimatepilot-controller voice communication loads. The routinely-recorded air traffic control data andassociated voice communication data were collected to statistically analyze the correlation betweencomplexity factors and pilot-controller voice communication loads. Results show that each complexity factor is significantly correlated with voice communication loads. To eliminate multicollinearity among complexity indicators, principle component analysis is performed to extract two principle components from complexity indicators. These variables were used to construct the multivariate regression equations of the communication durations, the communication frequencies, and the integrated voice communication load index. These equations can quantitatively describe and estimate air traffic controller’s voice communication loads.

Abstract: Traffic data is highly skewed with rare traffic incidents in the real word while most of the existing automatic incident detection (AID) algorithms suffer from limitations due to their inability to detect incidents under imbalanced traffic data condition. This paper developed feasible AID algorithms based on resampling methods to process imbalanced traffic data. In order to obtain the optimal sampling method for incident detection, we compare the detection performance of different AID algorithms based on various resampling methods. The detection performance is evaluated by the common criteria including classification rate, detection rate, false alarm rate, mean time to detection and an integrated performance index. The I-880 dataset is finally used in experiments to verify the proposed algorithms. The experimental results indicate that the proposed AID algorithm based on resampling can achieve better performance through handling imbalanced traffic data problem. Moreover, the under-sampling is competitive than over-sampling for traffic incident detection.

Abstract: Based on CIDAS's resources of accident video data recording vehicles and pedestrians, this paper focuses on utilizing video image based calculating methods to research on application of pedestrian throw distance formula in GA/T643-2006.Our study shows that the results calculated from the pedestrian throw distance formula are partly inaccurate compared with actual car speed in cases that pedestrians are thrown after first collision with cars, and barely accurate to reflect the actual car speed in cases that pedestrians are thrown after second collision with cars. Therefore, it requires further adjustments on parameters identification and application scope of the pedestrian throw distance formula.
