Abstract: In this study, eight different elastic knitted fabrics were chosen to make eight tight trousers of the same style and same size, and ten female students at Shanghai University of Engineering Science were chosen to try on these trousers. In the subjective experiment, 5 levels quantitative evaluation methods were adopted which the sensory characteristics was divided into 5 grades. On three kind of continuous state, each wearer was asked to evaluate on the stretch pants separately. By analyzing the subjective data, we can make a conclusion that the clothing pressure comfort and the sense of restraint are related not only to clothing pressure, but also to some other physiological and psychological feeling of wearer.

Abstract: In this study, eight different elastic fabrics were chosen to test their properties, ten testers tried on eight elastic pants made by the fabrics, and objective press test on three postures was carried on. Through analyzing the pressure values in five body points on three postures, the pressure distribution of the five parts of the body, and the relationship between the pressure and fabric properties were obtained.

Abstract: Eight sample clothing were designed and made in order to study on bias structure line design. The characteristics of the bias structure lines in clothing pattern making were analyzed and compared with conventional lines. The bias structure lines affected clothing girth and length, and the diagonal angle had direct proportional relationship with dart size. The waist line direction is changed to slant in bias structure line. A bias structure lines design method was summarized, and the detailed steps and methods were described.

Abstract: This paper presents a research of women clothing style, pattern design, and fabric by developing origami culture and double faced jacquard weaving. Four kinds of clothing styles are researched by folding fabric according some origami concept. Based on the developed folded garment structures, some positioned patterns are studied for modern advanced fashion design purposes. In the technology aspect, jacquard technology is used in this study. Jacquard technology uses double stitching structure which face and back patterns are not the same. The face fabric is colorful with pure silk while the back fabric is composite of twill and eight weft satin pattern with silk and cashmere yarn. The final example presents a combination creation of garment and fabric. The method and design of this type of creation requires a high integration of aesthetic and technical aspects, therefore a high added value would be achieved.

Abstract: In order to achieve the sided different effects and the function of UV shading of the three layers jacquard curtain fabric, we used two sets of the same common yarns as the warps, 2 groups of wefts in the front while 2 groups of wefts in the opposite and a group of TiO2 polyester weft which plays the role of UV-shading. The fabric’s wefts arrangement ratio is 1:1:1:1:1. There are four kinds of weaves in the front and five in the opposite (seeing from the reverse side), then in overlaying the four kinds in the front with the five kinds in the opposite we can get 20 kinds of weaves. By integrating shading cloth and curtains with two-sides-different effects together, in the end, the three layers jacquard curtain fabric which has two-sides-different effects and UV-shading function is achieved.
