Abstract: Malaysia bid for transition to low carbon cities and greener economy may be severely compromised without adequate green skills to keep pace with it. Based on an online survey of 132 respondents from 45 registered companies under Malaysian Green Building Confederation (MGBC), this study adopts Kendall’s rank correlation to assess the degree of agreement or concordance among the expert on the significance of some identified low carbon skills requirement for existing buildings. Our findings reveal strong degree of concordance as there were high relationship among the low carbon skills considered, especially on the ability of to integrate passive and active low carbon design, use of computer simulation software for prediction of energy and accounting of carbon dioxide emissions. Also, the mean score values on the low carbon skills show that all were considered important by the respondents.

Abstract: Take the ecological folk house design in Li Jiayuan village in Shaanxi province for example, this paper investigates and explores the actual existing problems and shortcomings in rural folk house, analyzes its influence mechanism. On this basis, transform the plane layout and form of the traditional folk house from the perspective of ecology and technology, put forward the design strategies and schemes to suit the local folk house to improve rural residents quality of life, reduce energy consumption of buildings and preserve the ecological environment, hopes to provide reference of the ecological folk house construction in mountainous village.

Abstract: Promoting green building has become an important policy goal in Taiwan. This paper explores the possibilities of transforming a regular duplex housing unit into a green building. Through an examination of residents’ demand of a selected housing community in Tainan, Taiwan, the demand of green building facilities and services by actual users was identified. This was followed by a design approach which applies several selected green building technologies based on the demand of residents and local environmental characteristics. The result shows that multi-dimensional goals of transforming existing housing into a green building can be obtained through a well-planned design approach which better understands the demand of residents.

Abstract: The assessment of effect about economic incentive policy of renewable energy building is affected by many factors. The single index evaluation is not only short of scientific basis, but also has great limitations. The research analyses the principles of evaluation index system from the perspective of low-carbon and establishes a multi-index comprehensive evaluation system considering the external characteristics of renewable energy building. The system mainly includes the economic, environmental and social benefits. According to this system, AHP and attribute mathematics theory are used to evaluate the effect of incentive policy.

Abstract: Artificial aggregates with high strength and a similar mineral composition to Portland cement clinker are made up of industrial waste and limestone, which are prepared for recycling concrete. Regenerated cement clinker is fabricated by recycling concrete powder added with a small amount of correction raw materia. Through the Gentling equation computing and microstructure morphology observation, the apparent activation energy (Ea) of two kinds of regenerated cement clinkers are 199 kJ/mol and 333 kJ /mol respectively, which is lower than that of traditional cement clinker (518 kJ/mol). The reaction rate constant (k) of regenerated cement clinker are about 4.8108×10-5 s-1 and 2.5003×10-5 s-1 at 1350°C. At the process of calcination, the formation temperature of C3S and sintering temperature of regenerated cement clinker are lower than that of the traditional cement clinker.

Abstract: Carbon dioxide emission and industrial waste recycling have become hot spots of the world's scientific research, and the preparation of brick in CO2 mineral carbonation of steel slag increased gradually. However, there still exists some questions, such as low strength, low carbonization efficiency. Combined with these problems and according to the previous experimental basis, this study aims to further improve the carbonation efficiency and mechanical properties of building materials. In this paper, it studied the influence of carbonization pressure in the preparation of steel slag bricks as building materials by CO2 mineral carbonation. The results show that the optimal carbonization pressure is about 0.25MPa. Under the process parameters, the carbonization efficiency and the compressive strength is 16.6% and 65.1MPa respectively.

Abstract: Based on specifying the connotation of land finance and its structure, this paper chose land granting income, cultivated land usagetax, deed tax, urban land use tax, land value-added tax and property tax; built the per unit area of land transfer income, the average per unit area land tax revenue, the average land transfer income accounted for the proportion of local financial general budget revenue, and average land tax accounted for the proportion of local financial general budget revenue. By partitioning the land finance of Shandong province employing clustering analysis, the 17 cities were classified into five categories:high land price regions, high land tax regions, low land price regions, low land tax regions, and high land revenue regions. By summarizing the similarities of all these categories, the paper pointed out the land finance characters and its existing problems and discussed their future developments.

Abstract: To study the rationality of concentration of coastal container ports in China, a comparison of container port concentration of China and other countries' has been carried out. The result shows that the concentration of Chinese ports is relatively low, but the container throughput of Chinese ports is relatively high and their average container throughput is much higher than other countries’ ports’. If we continuously promoted the concentration of coastal container ports, the main Chinese ports' container throughout would grow excessively. That will bring some negative effects to the port located cities and hinder the healthiness and steadiness of port development. So, although the current concentration of Chinese ports is relatively low, in consideration of the facts of our country, the status of low concentration should be maintained or becomes even lower, to ensure the sustainable development of coastal container ports.

Abstract: With the rapid development of China's economy, an unprecedented breakthrough is also achieved in the urbanization construction speed. This paper first introduces the principle of method for evaluation of urbanization, then selects the indicator system of urbanization in Xianning mountain, and builds up a set of indicator system for evaluation of urbanization in mountainous area in Xianning with AHP, conducts a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of urbanization of mountainous area in Xianning; finally, the evaluation result is analyzed.

Abstract: This paper used methods of co-integration analysis and Granger causality estimation to test the relationship between energy consumption and urbanization in Shandong province from 1995 to 2012. Econometric software—Eviews 6.0 was used during the calculation process. All the empirical study experienced several steps including unit root test, co-integration test, error correction model as well as Granger causality estimation. Despite the short-run fluctuation, the empirical study showed that there was a stable equilibrium relationship between energy consumption and urbanization in Shandong province in the long-run. Meanwhile there was a one-way causality relationship from energy consumption to urbanization in Shandong province. Under the background of energy shortage, several energy policies should be carried out to maintain the sustainable energy consumption and urbanization in Shandong province.
