Abstract: The economic growth of National level Economic and Technological Development Zones (NETDZs) affects the sustainable development of NETDZs and their host cities a lot in China. Determinants and mechanism of NETDZs’ economic growth in 2010 is detected by geographical detector. There is a U-shaped spatial pattern by NETDZs’ economic growth rates among the Eastern, Central and Western China. The result of factor detection showed that the top 5 determinants of NETDZs’ economic growth are regionally different in China. External factors are more powerful in Eastern China, while internal factors of NETEZs dominate the economic growth of NETDZs more in Central and Western China. Besides revealing determinants, these results show two universal policy mistakes: blindly lowing land price and encouraging high technology industry, which are proved not effective in prompting the development of NETDZs, but inducing serious problems. Therefore, NETDZs’ economic growth policies should be made and adjusted following the regional determinants and mechanism in different regions and development stages, what’s more, policy mistakes reflected by factor detection should be avoided as well.

Abstract: Under the background of rapid urbanization in China, this paper takes the southeast of Changchun city as an example, and uses 2008 to 2012 as decision making unit with DEA. Then it comes to the relevant conclusion of the effectiveness of urban expansion in Changchun city to the economic development:(1) the southeast of Changchun city may still have the space to continue expanding;(2) whether urban expansion in the future still brings more benefits to Changchun economic development or not, which mainly depends on the evaluation result after 2012;(3) DEA method has the feasibility and effectiveness in this respect, and such studies can be assumed to be one of the reference of determining city scale.

Abstract: This research proposes a sustainable development evaluation index for the Taiwan Taoyuan Aerotropolis development project in response to related development strategy, planning, and future development needs. The framework for a Taiwan Taoyuan Aerotropolis Sustainable Development Index Evaluation System includes 8 aspects, 37 evaluation indices and 104 secondary evaluation indices. In determining what to include in the evaluation index, the writers referenced national sustainable development policies and invited governmental agencies involved with the project to engage in focused interviews with experts so as to enhance the drafting of the Taiwan Taoyuan Aerotropolis Sustainable Development Index Evaluation System Framework. The results of this research work can be used as a basis for evaluating the future efficacy of the Aerotropolis development.

Abstract: In the present work the economic feasibility of a project of public infrastructure, the expansion of the subway of the city Potenza, is estimated. The assessment has been developed through the application of the Cost-Benefit Analysis. As is known the advantage of this technique is the ability to express in monetary terms the externalities (positive and negative) generated by the project. In this case, the external cost savings related to the improvement of the mobility in the city have been internalized. The research has shown that the valuation of the externalities can be an effective way to manage the planning of new public transport infrastructure.

Abstract: The urbanization rate of Nanjing is at the forefront of the country. According to the objectives and requirements of Nanjing to build a modern, international, humanistic green city.Firstly, this paper analyzed the connotation and the basic conditions of green ecological wisdom of Nanjing. Then it proposed the idea , objectives, principles and path of green ecological wisdom city construction of Nanjing. And highlighting the top-level design, building the green ecological environment, focusing on mechanism innovation to promote the city construction reasonably, strengthening the technical innovation to promote the interactive construction of city, promoting the industrial and construction of urban interaction were also proposed .It was needed to promote public goods , focus on public service platform, innovate governance model and build double-acting system with markets and government.

Abstract: Facility location problems arise for planning and stationing serve centers including waste disposal sites, hospitals, distribution centers, post offices, and fire stations. The single facility location problem can be modeled by a fixed point problem. Commonly the definition set of variables are requested as a convex set. In real world applications, the collection of feasible sites to locate always is non-convex set. The contribution of this paper is to apply the theorem of existence of the solution of fixed point problem to discuss the facility location problem in non-convex definition set of variables and obtain the computational result. Numerical example shows that the numerical method by tracing the homotopy pathway with predictor-corrector is an effective method to solving the facility location problem and a global optimal solution can be obtained.

Abstract: Urbanization and resources-environment are two subsystems in the socio-economic development system which interact and affect each other, so it has become an urgent need to coordinate them and identify the coupling laws between them. This paper took Hubei Province as an example, built comprehensive evaluation index systems for the urbanization and resource-environment. Then, utilized the AHP (analytic hierarchy process) to calculate the weights of indexes, and estimated the comprehensive index of urbanization and resources-environment of Hubei Province during 1996-2010. The coupling degree model and coupling coordination degree model were used to calculate the coupling degree and coupling coordination degree of the comprehensive index of urbanization, resources-environment of Hubei Province during 1996-2010. Further analyzed the coupling relationship and coordination extent of these two subsystems, analyzed the timing characteristics and reasons of its coupling coordination, discussed the regularity of the mutual influence and interactions between urbanization and resources-environment in Hubei province. This will provide a theoretical reference for the urban development and management, sustainable development of resources-environment, construction of “two-oriented” society in Hubei Province.

Abstract: With the theory and method of general system science, the paper, by taking Xianning City as a case study, established coupling coordination theoretical models of socio-economic benefits and eco-environmental benefits of urban land intensive use, then analyzed socio-economic benefits and eco-environment benefits of urban land intensive use, coupling degree and coupling coordinative degree between urban land intensive use socio-economic and eco-environmental by using the statistical data during 1999-2010. The results showed that: (1) The socio-economic benefits of urban land intensive use increased rapidly, however, the eco-environmental benefits of urban land intensive use increased in a fluctuation; (2) The coupling degrees of urban land intensive use socio-economic benefits and eco-environmental benefits was at an antagonism development stage, the coupling degrees decreased slowly; (3) The coupling coordination degree of urban land intensive use socio-economic benefits and eco-environmental benefits experienced moderate coordination level and high coordination level.

Abstract: By investigating the four categories geological tourism resources such as karst valleys, karst caves, water and geological structure in Hubei Shibalichangxia Nature Reserve, this paper analyzed the existing problems in the development of tourism resources, the problems included the contradiction between tourism development and protection, tourism theme is not obvious and infrastructure construction lag behind. Combined with other natural and cultural resources in the nature reserve, this paper put forward the develop clue of the six major tourism functional area, they are the canyon scenery geological science area, the ancient salt path experience area, Xiangba folk customs experience area, Yuping river folk experience area and rare biological conservation area, which may promote the rapid development of tourism economy in the Shibalichangxia Nature Reserve of Hubei province.
