Abstract: Vitrified microsphere insulation mortar is a new type building insulation mortar which developed in recent years, with having the advantages of well workability, high intensity and fire prevention. But because the vitrified microsphere we use of which much exists on the defects of high dry density and bad insulation effect, it analyzed deeply kinds of factors which influence on the physical and mechanical properties of vitrified microsphere insulation mortar, making use of orthogonal experiment to optimize the composition materials of insulation mortar. The orthogonal test results show that the most influential raw materials factors to mortar insulation properties and 28d compressive strength followed by aggregate, polypropylene fiber, fly ash and latex powder.

Abstract: In this paper, the development and properties of floating bead insulation mortar were introduced. Based on the experimental study, a new kind of exterior wall external thermal insulating mortar had been successfully produced. For this material, fly ash floating bead and expanded pearlite which was modified by hydrophobe were taken as the lightweight aggregate, meanwhile, Portland cement was used as the inorganic binder, also the fiber and polymer were taken as the additive. The results of experiments indicated that properties of fly ash floating bead insulating mortar, such as thermal insulation, strength, crack resistant and climate resistant, were superior to those of expanded pearlite insulating mortar. On the other hand, other properties, such as bulk stability, aging resistant, climate resistant, crack resistant and fireproofing, construction workability were much better than those of expanded polystyrene sheet ( EPS) insulating mortar.

Abstract: A kind of abiochemistry anchor bolt was studied by a series of systematic tests. Its anchorage agent is a kind of special cement that cures quickly with the final setting time within 7 min, and compressive strength of the special cement can reach 19.2 MPa within 1h. The glutinous strength between the anchor bolt and the cement reaches 110 kg/cm2, and the glutinous strength between the cement and the rock or coal mass also reaches 47 kg/cm2. Early tensile force of the anchor bolt is high, which amounts to 14 ton after installed 1h. This kind of anchor bolt can be made simply and cheaply, installed conveniently and applied to different engineering problems.

Abstract: This work studies the development of using the Mae-Khong Flat Shape Alluvial Gravel which mostly found in Mae-Khong River as the raw material of the concrete combinations (GVCM) to produce the non-bearing thin wall. There are three main material properties investigated: the compressive strength, the tensile strength and the thermal conductivity. All properties are also compared with limestone concrete (LSC) which is widely used in normal concrete works. Results show that all properties of both materials increase with increasing cured time. For GVMC, the compressive strength increases as 6.66% for cured time from 28 to 180 days. The ratio of compressive strength to tensile strength is 8.69 compared with LSC which the value is 8.89. These can confirm that GVCM has the enough quality to produce the non-bearing materials according to the Thai community product standard.

Abstract: As a new high strength and environmental protection material, the cavity wall material has attracted increasing attention. It is made from paper with alveolus triangle inside. It has two talent rights in China, which one is “A kind of Composite Paper Technique with High Strength”; another is “A Kind of Cavity Composite Material with Alveolus Triangle inside”. As the infilling-wall of the steel frame building, the cavity composite masonry is made of the cavity material as the core wall and between two sides of fine aggregate concrete with wire-meshes, which can increase the bearing capacity and stiffness of the steel frame, and improve ductility and earthquake resistant behavior. In this paper, the mechanic performance of the cavity wall material is tested. Test result show that the cavity wall material has many good performance including lightweight, high-strength, heat insulation and sound insulation, and is a kind of good infilling wall material of the steel frame building. Therefore, the cavity wall material has a good prospect of application and extension.

Abstract: Different amount of pumice were used to replace gravel to make mixed aggregate concrete, the fast freeze-thaw cycle test were conducted and the influence of pumice rate substitution to the frost resistance properties of concrete were studied.The mass loss rate, strength loss and relative dynamic elastic modulus were regarded as the evaluation index of frost resistance properties of concrete. Results showed that the mass loss rate and strength loss rate gradually decreased and the relative dynamic elastic modulus gradually increased with the increase of pumice rate, the mass loss rate, strength loss rate and the relative dynamic elastic modulus gradually decreased with the increase of freeze-thaw cycles. Polypropylene fibers could reduce the strength loss rate, improved the relative dynamic elastic modulus, but had little effect to improve the mass loss. Through the frost resistance, the frost resistance of concrete improved with the increase of pumice content, at the same time, polypropylene fiber also could improve the frost resistance of concrete.

Abstract: This study investigated the feasibility of using desulphurization slag as binder material for concrete mixing. Results show that the amount of water required in mortar preparation increased with increasing fineness and proportion of desulphurization slag used. The greater the amount of desulphurization slag, the longer the setting time and the lower the compressive strength are. Moreover, the durability showed a decreasing trend with increase in desulphurization slag used. After 28-day curing, better compressive strength could be achieved with desulphurization slag added. In particular, mortar mixed with almost any proportion of desulphurization slag used, except for 20% and 30%, showed increase in compressive strength exceeding 21 MPa. Durability was also enhanced with desulphurization slag added. In sum, mortar prepared with 5% of cement replaced by desulphurization slag of #200 fineness showed good properties and performance, proving that desulphurization slag can be an ideal binder material for concrete mixing.

Abstract: Almost all obsolete vessels contain hazardous materials, which may affect environment and health of workers and will be handed over to registered waste management facility for further treatment and disposal. How to control these hazardous materials and wastes has become one important issue. In this paper, the category, application, location and effect of the hazardous materials onboard were presented. Then, the current status of worldwide major ship recycling yards was analyzed. Finally, the related international conventions and standards were introduced. As we all know, ship recycling operations are often carried out in developing countries, especially in Asia, due to low cost and imperfect regulations. We believe that Chinese ship-breaking companies with the positive response to Hong Kong Convention and the improvement of the management regulation, facilities, operation condition and labor protection, will get the favor of various international ship-owners.

Abstract: Bead-structured titanium dioxide microspheres were successfully prepared by a facile one-step solvothermal method using diblock copolymers poly(ethylene oxide)-block-polystyene (PEO-b-PS) as the structure-directing agent. The products were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetic analysis and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) technique. The XRD patterns show that the products synthesized with low content of HCl are anatase titanium dioxide and the products synthesized with low content of HCl are rulite titanium dioxide.
