Abstract: “The Project of Nomadic Settlement” is one of the major construction tasks for “Gannan Important Water Supply Ecological Functional Area of Yellow River”. Because of the distribution of population and settlements have obvious discreteness and wavering in alpine pasture, it is necessary to plan and guide agricultural and grazing villages during the process of the construction of nomadic settlements, spatial displacement and integration of population and settlement. The nomadic habitation mode in Luqu county undergoes four stages. At present, it adopts four settlement modes, that is, centralized settlement mode in the county town, settlement mode in the village, settlement along the highway mode and dispersed settlement mode, involving a total of 2,645households,13,783people and be arranged in 21 settlements. The paper adopts 14 indicators related conditions of economic development, social development conditions, geographic conditions, measures the overall strength of 24 administrative villages in Luqu, the whole villages are divided into four grade. The results show that the suburban villages are better than the surrounding villages and towns, pure pastoral farming are better than farming-pastoral villages. Accordingly, 24 villages are divided into four types—community-based villages, developing villages, controlling villages, and revoking-merging villages. Finally, it also proposes the path on village plan guidelines.

Abstract: In recent years, waterway governance has become an opportunity for a new round of reform to urban waterfront space. In the new historical conditions, affected by the requirements of ecological restoration of waterways and urban waterfront landscape, the improvement of the water quality, the functional transformation of waterfront space and comprehensive improvement in the shoreline environment are hold together by the guide of principles of sustainable development. Based on waterway governance, the urban waterfront space is becoming into the important meeting point of the improvement of urban environment, space and the quality of the culture. In this paper, the planning of urban waterfront based on Anhui Nanfei River waterway governance is discussed.

Abstract: Evaluation for urban sustainable development is very significant to improve the future development of urban. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is very popular used to evaluate the urban sustainable development, but limited to forecasting the future development. In the study, a model designed based on SD and AHP is expected to resolve this problem. And we take Zhangye city in Gansu province as an example to study the evaluation performance of the model. The result of the urban sustainable development is getting better and better towards 2020. The result shows that the development of Zhangye city is going to be good in future 10 years. The experimental results indicate the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed method.

Abstract: Developing geological heritage resource from the perspective of tourism is a new pattern of resource using. The development of Xinjiang geological heritage resource is restricted and effected by the internal and external driving forces and support. The internal driving force includes the resource endowment and the need for regional economic and sustainable development; the external driving force includes the competition of tourism, the market and the government regulation; support includes the construction of infrastructure, the improvement of tourism facilities and ecological support. All these forces restrict and effect each other and become a harmonious whole.

Abstract: Regions of Karst landscape cover an estimated 12 percent of the world’s land space. South China Karst has been successful in its application to enter the World Heritage List as a natural heritage approved by UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee in 2007. The heritage site includes the Shilin Karst of Yunnan, Libo Karst of Guizhou and Wulong Karst of Chongqing, covering a total area of 146,016 ha. The present paper offers an analytical comparison as seen from global perspectives, and reveals the outstanding universal value of the South China site while highlighting its heritage resources properties. In addition, the paper also points to some of the major problems, even possible geological disasters devastating the site, including overdue exploitation and rocky desertification. Then the analysis proceeds to put forth relevant conservation strategies, which includes establishment and implementation of scientific management mechanism as well as a disaster monitoring system so as to promote the sustainable development of this natural heritage site.

Abstract: This paper characterizes the climate characteristics and observed climate variability in Ningxia, China, using observed daily data from 15 meteorological stations. Climate indices until 2050 and 2100 are projected using the Regional climate impact models PRECIS (Providing Regional Climates for Impacts Studies), emphasizing those which are relevant to agriculture. The results show that the average temperature in Ningxia has increased from 1961-2010 while the mean precipitation has decreased. The frost-free period and accumulated temperature ≥0°C have also increased. Frost-free periods have increased and extended the growing season. PRECIS shows that the annual average temperature, minimum and maximum temperature is projected to increase. Annual precipitation will not change significantly, but the observed dry spells will continue. Increasing temperatures are beneficial for most crop yields but also increase the risk of plant diseases as planting and harvesting times have changed and will change. The regional disparity of water availability, demand and actual use will further be aggravated in future.

Abstract: The main purposes of eco-landscape pattern evaluation of Panjin New city is to exam the possibility of the plan proposal in view of ecological methods. The authors study the subject by calculating the values of 5 landscape indexes, and get the final results by three steps: First, the authors collect the original data from both plan proposal and remote sensing; second, the authors select the indexes and formulas interfered with the urban plan; third, the authors suggest to adjust the proposal on the basis of calculation result. Finally, we can draw conclusions that the majority of the proposals are feasible in spite of increasing a few improvements.

Abstract: At the background of geological and mining conditions of typical roadways in Xinwen mining area, using numerical simulation software FLAC-3D, the effects of mining depth, weak structure and rock strength on the characteristics of zonal disintegration in Deep Roadway was studied. Results show that high stress is the premise to form the phenomenon of zonal disintegration; weak structure in surrounding rocks is the key and surrounding rock strength is the determinants of damage degree and scope of rupture zone in deep surrounding rocks. There are important theoretical and practical significances to explore the formation mechanism of zonal disintegration in surrounding rocks of deep roadways, and to ensure safe mining of deep resources.

Abstract: With the acceleration of urbanization, the rural living environment and energy consumption have changed greatly. Through the analysis of the indoor environment and energy consumption of rural houses in western China, the author puts forward to a series of methods and ways to improve the rural living conditions and energy saving so that the rural houses to be built would decrease the interference of existing natural system as far as possible, reduce the utilization of one-off energy sources and improve the living environment of rural people fundamentally.

Abstract: Weihe river system, which played an important role in the construction and development of cities in history, is the basic frame of the geographical environment in Xi’an area. In the process of accelerated urbanization, the ecological environment of the river system has been greatly damaged, which seriously constrained the sustainable development of local area. Aiming at improving regional landscape pattern and ecological development of cities, this thesis puts forward the conception of constructing Weihe river system ecological corridors in Xi’an area, analyzes the concept and features of corridors, and proposes the basic principles in construction. The methods of constructing ecological corridors are discussed from macro-view, middle-view and micro-view respectively.
