Abstract: At present, the elderly people in China are bearing pressures at different levels from living conditions, public transport, social participation, social belonging, and some other aspects. Recently, a relevant elderly-care survey was done. Along with actual situation and statistics, it indicates affecting factors basically in two phases: personal factors and social factors. Then urban public facilities requirements which differ from the general can be deduced. In order to fulfill related requirements, six design points of urban public facilities are listed in consistent with synthesizing the four pivotal parts – human, product, environment, and the society, which contain public facilities-network establishment, guidance improvement, material selection and so forth.

Abstract: This paper investigates ways of deploying ecological principles in the planning and design practice of landscape architecture. As a modern profession, one of the central tasks of landscape architecture is of protecting and recovering our environment. The profession is now in the demand in China, because of China’s rapid urban development and the consequent environmental problems. A case study of the planning and design of the Li Lake area provides evidence of how the profession is carrying out such a task. The study also identifies the disconnection between ecological and cultural strategies for recovering a particular landscape.

Abstract: The Qilihai wetland locates in the southwest of Ninghe County in Tianjin. It is the core of Tianjin Ancient Seacoast and Swamp Reserve in China. Qilihai has large amount of rare typical geological remains, such as ancient oysters, ancient highlands, and ancient lagoon. Based on the analysis of the geological remains in Qilihai area, the tactics of protection and development were researched in this paper.

Abstract: This paper analyzes the characteristics of the stock price fluctuation compared with elastic-plastic theory in mechanics and introduces the concept of stock equilibrium price, plasticity of stock price analogically. A basic model of the stock plasticity under the relationship between stock price fluctuation and trading volume changes is also built. Tested by 20 kinds of stocks from Shanghai and Shenzhen stock markets in China by using the econometric analysis software Eviews3.0 afterwards, the basic model is improved, and three developed models are built from it. Finally, this paper obtains more scientific and reasonable stock price plasticity model after the comparative analysis of the four previous models.

Abstract: With some examples given, the paper points out six main misunderstandings that exist in eco-waterfront practice under Chinese background. It brings forward restoration of ecology as the principle to guide the waterfront constructions, and also offers some concrete methods through several designs. Here “restoration” has two meanings: one is that original meaning or intention should be given back to the word “ecology”; the other is instead of human’s inventing something ecological, local ecology characteristics should be given back to urban waterfront.

Abstract: Urban green spaces are considered as the life support system in a city, if systematically planned, developed, and maintained, they may provide various ecosystem services in a sustainable way. By integrating the morphological spatial pattern analysis (MSPA) and the green infrastructure (GI) network based on GIS, this study provided an urban green space planning method to guide urban sustainable spatial development and land use decisions in the Longgang District of Shenzhen in China. The approach has a robust performance in identifying the vital hubs and linkages in the urban green space system. It is hoped that this plan model based on MSPA, the function connectivity of urban green spaces could be farther strengthened so that some key zones in landscape pattern could be protected in the future development.

Abstract: There are over 20 kinds of Acer wild and cultivated plants (including the introduced species cultivated and varieties) in Jiangsu Province, approximately accounting for 13% of species across China. Jiangsu is the province with resourceful Acer plants in China. The application characteristics, problems existed and countermeasures of Acer plant on the Qixia Mountain Scenic Resort in Nanjing are analyzed based on the illustration of their resources in Jiangsu province and their application value in gardens.

Abstract: Currently, research on wetlands is a rapidly developing field. To understand the state of wetland science in China, we used the term “wetland” ,“marsh”, “swamp”, “bog” and “mire” as the keywords to search in the ISI Web of Knowledge and the Chinese Journals Full-Text Database and collect Chinese and English literature on wetland written by Chinese researchers. These publications were analyzed with bibliometric methods by the distribution of the publication year, the author and organization distribution, the journal distribution, the research funds, the research regions and the subjects. The results indicate that core research groups working in the field of wetland science in China have already been formed, although the distribution of research groups was scattered across many institutions and universities. Dispersion and concentration coexisted in the journal distribution of Chinese and English publications—the majority of publications were clumped in a small number of journals, while a minority was scattered in a large number of journals. In China, there are two professional journals publishing papers on wetlands, Wetland Science and Wetland Science & Management. However, it is reasonable to launch an English language wetland journal in the country to enhance communication and cooperation. Research funds for wetland science have a wide array of sources. An important portion of the papers in Chinese was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and provincial foundations, while those in English were supported either by National Natural Science Foundation of China or international funds. Field studies in wetland science were mainly conducted in the regions with great valleys. Wetland hydrology, Wetland Biogeochemical process and Wetland protection and management are the main objects of those studies. With the development of economy, many environmental and resource issues have emerged due to the excessive use and subsequent destruction of wetland areas. Thus, enforcing the protection of wetlands is becoming increasingly popular.

Abstract: As one of the basic studies of sustainable development, China’s habitability of human settlements research indicates that in China, the regions that have no constraint for habitation take up 7.28% while no serious constraint areas account for 8.72%. These two most suitable types for habitation only reach 16%of the total territory. The regions that are difficult for high-density habitation take up 20.05%, and unsuitable for high-density habitation compose 24.21%. If taking population distribution into consideration, nearly half of the population live in the regions without constraint or without serious constraint, and 37% population reside in the areas which are difficult for high-density habitation.

Abstract: Abstract: Based on land use survey of Yongfu town of Guilin city and analyzing the construction land change in the last 5 years, this paper discussed the construction land situation at the present, and planned the construction land to provide reasonable and scientific planning measures for intensive land use of Yongfu town, so as to improve the land use efficiency.
