Abstract: The characteristics and function of geographic information system (GIS) technique were summarized and the advantages of GIS application in environmental impact assessment (EIA) were introduced. GIS can provide good function of information technology for EIA, based on its strong ability on processing spatial data and attribute data. The applications of GIS in establishing environmental information database, selecting sites for projects, making environmental thematic map and combining with environmental model to predict environmental impact were introduced. The traffic noise prediction of Beijing Xiwai Street west extension project in EIA report was taken as an example to introduce GIS application in urban road EIA.

Abstract: Jiangsu coastal has the huge development potential. With the development, more and more person and property are exposed. Therefore, to strengthen the disaster prevention and mitigation planning is imperative. The paper analysis the influence factors on the storm surge and completed the storm surge risk regionalization by system clustering method. The results show 7 risk grades in Jiangsu coastal. The Xishu-Dabantiao is the highest risk grade coastal, and the Sheyang estuary-Dongling port is the lowest risk grade coastal. According to the storm surge risk grade and exposed property, with minimum cost, the biggest benefit and full use of existing resource as the basic principle, the paper put forward pertinent planning scheme to prevent storm surge disaster.

Abstract: A river is a water container. Moreover, rivers and riverside green spaces are both important ecological gene pools. The functions of water, drainage, and ecological conservation are under serious consideration because of increasing global water issues. However, an assessment method that is integrated with multiple thinking is lacking. An urban river ecosystem quality assessment model cannot be viewed only with a hydraulic engineering perspective because a river ecosystem combines economic, social, and natural aspects. In this study, a literature review is developed and the basic architecture is indexed to increase the objectivity of the index system. The goal of sustainable urban river assessment is to establish an initial questionnaire containing assessment model indexes. A total of 23 indicators are identified by using fuzzy number calculations of expert questionnaires. These are divided into six categories: water quality, biological, sediment, stream conditions, vegetation, and river type.

Abstract: Markov chain is a stochastic process, which can calculate the variability. Water security is an open system. It is influenced by the surround environment and always changing. This paper developed a new method called entropy-Markov chain model to assess water security with progress degree. It’s an dynamic method, giving the average progress degree in a period. This method introduces entropy weight into the Markov chain, normalizes the original evaluating matrix and divides the interval of [0,1] to 11 states. This paper also uses this method to assess water security in Tai Lake region , China, from 1981 to 2000 and gets a comparative good results. This template explains and demonstrates how to prepare your camera-ready paper for Trans Tech Publications. The best is to read these instructions and follow the outline of this text.

Abstract: The concept of electricity ecosystem and its harmonious development is put forward, to establish the electricity ecosystem harmony evaluation method. An empirical case study in Guangdong province whose results show that, electricity ecosystem is a complex system forming in the interactions among electricity, environment and economy. To achieve harmonious development and maximize the overall ecosystem efficiency, each subsystem should achieve high benefit on the premise. The evaluation index is built to describe the electricity ecosystem harmonious development status, analytic hierarchy process and entropy method are used to solve the weight of index, with improving the precision and reliability of the evaluation results. From 2000 to 2010, the coordination degree of Guangdong electricity ecosystem showed a first decline and then an upward trend, with the nadir in 2004. This electricity ecosystem is in the process of fluctuated evolution from disorder to order.

Abstract: Reservoir water quality assessment plays an important role in water environmental treatment. This takes Shifosi reservoir as example, using water quality monitoring data in 2010, selecting monitoring indexes. It applied grey clustering method to water quality assessment, concluded the assessment result and discussed the result. Through this water quality assessment,it provided basis for the reservoir water environment research.

Abstract: Urban greenspace is of the key importance to mitigate negatively environmental effects and balance urban ecology. This article got statistics and distributions of urban greenspaces for China’s Yangtze River Delta by interpolating remote sensing imageries obtained in 2008 and 2009. Then, based on the greenspace statistics and regional characteristics, the eco-service valuation of the urban greenspaces were evaluated using empirical parameters and model. Among 18 types of eco-service statistics in this region, 7 types of them including SO2 absorb, CO2 sequestration and O2 release, microclimate regulation, dust reduction, noise mitigation and sterilization, biodiversity maintain and cultural service were main eco-service functions.

Abstract: Biodegradability was adopted to evaluate the environment impact of PCDL type of aliphatic hyperbranched polyurethane which was used as the substrate of microorganism. The main results obtained by the method of respiratory curves were as follows. When the concentration of substrate was 0~500mg/L, the respiratory curves of the substrate were under the curve of endogenous, which showed that the substrate has inhabiting effect on microorganism. When the concentration of the substrate was 300mg/L, the utilization of the substrate by microorganism was the most. The main results obtained by the method of COD30 were as follows. When sludge concentration was 1000mg/L and pH was 7, the biodegradation rate of 300mg/L PCDL aliphatic hyperbranched polyurethane was only 5.78%. Under above condition, the biodegradation rates of PCDL aliphatic hyperbranched polyurethane with other concentrations were much smaller. Moreover, as indicated in the respiratory curves, the effect of sludge concentration and pH on the biodegradability of the substrate was not very obvious. Under the experimental conditions, when the concentration of the substrate was 300mg/L, the sludge concentration was 3000mg/L and pH was 9, the biodegradability of the substrate was the best.

Abstract: The environmental quality evaluation of seawater is a multicomponent and multi-factorial one, the water environment quality classification standards and the level of water pollution and so on are some vague concepts .Currently available evaluation models of water quality have more or less some shortage, Based on the variable fuzzy theory, the paper is to establish the variable fuzzy evaluation model of seawater quality and apply the approach to the comprehensive evaluation of Jiaozhou Bay seawater quality. The practice indicates that the model is simple, and can reasonably determine the sample's the relative membership degree and the relative membership functions to the different index standard ranges and be able to properly rate the sample by taking the stable result as the result of the comprehensive evaluation of seawater quality through changing the model and its parameters (a and p parameters change, change for four models, including a linear, three nonlinear) thereby providing a new approach and method for multi-objective comprehensive evaluation and decision-making in marine environmental field

Abstract: Hub cutter is a new kind of plant cutters with a good capability of anti-blocking and stability of operating performance. Hub cutter was simulated by using Coupled FEA/CFD analysis in order to get the hydrodynamic pressure value , static pressure and natural frequency. The results show that the change of hydrodynamic pressure on the hub cutter is large. Furthermore, the static pressure was measured focusing on both ends of the aquatics hub cutter. It provides a theoretical basis for designing hub cutters. The study shows that it is feasible to use Coupled FEA/CFD analysis results to predict the performance of hub cutter. This method can be applied in engineering practice and is an innovative design with coupled FEA/CFD analysis.
