Abstract: The article summarizes 9 logical thinking types of architectural design from discussing the complex connotations and two realms of inquiry of contemporary architecture. Then the relevancy analysis on the relationship between the logical thinking types and the building types was made. Finally, it explored how the logical thinking types could be applied in the design, teaching and assessment work. The study teases out a logical, correspondence and systematic thinking system for the design and teaching practice, so that the complicated architectural design is expected to be logical and rule-based.

Abstract: Traditional Chinese private gardens with their fascinating spatial layouts represent a tiptop accomplishment of classical garden art. However, whether the museum spatial configuration with Chinese style garden can still synthesize its exhibits when the spatial attribute of Chinese private garden is imitated and imbedded into modern museum To better testify the consideration, this paper took Suzhou Museum as an example, a museum with the layout of Chinese style garden, to analyze its spatial visual attribute by using Depthmap software based on space syntax theory. Meanwhile, through comparing with Zhuozheng Garden which is a classical private garden adjacent to Suzhou Museum, we found a similar spatial attribute both in Zhuozheng Garden and Suzhou Museum: the indoor spaces for exhibit layout are separated while the outdoor spaces for traveling and landscape are continuous by studying visual connectivity and integration graphs. That is to say, Suzhou Museum with Chinese garden configuration, its space for exhibit layout is generally segregated from the overall museum spatial experience. In addition, in order to re-examine above findings, visitors were randomly selected to be observed and recorded their traveling routes or stops for sightseeing. The analysis results of visitor behavior pattern also showed a relatively close relation with the former visibility graph analyses.

Abstract: Given the research findings concerning the Sino-west hybrid style buildings in early modern China are abundant but are lack of systemic pectination, this paper analyzes the related research findings from an integrative and classified perspective, especially makes a detailed review on the early modern vernacular architecture, which possess the characteristic of local evolution, and the national style of Chinese buildings in early modern times. Furthermore, the paper points out deficiencies in previous researches in the early modern Sino-west hybrid style buildings, and puts forward the urgent problems must be solved.

Abstract: The call for cultural heritage protection has been more and more urgent since Mr. Liang took the research of Beijing until the 1980s town protection work in the national general expansion. Cultural changes, cultural transition, cultural loss phenomenon often occur, so the inheritance of traditional culture is particularly important. We set Qijiang town in Sichuan province as the research object about the outstanding traditional culture and traditional cultural activities. Thinking about the current situation of the traditional culture protection, paying attention to the truth and the traditional cultural carrier and getting help from all people, we can get optimization methods about traditional culture protection measures.

Abstract: Nanotechnology is one of the most important key technologies of the twenty-first century while its economic impact is another subject to be recognized. Nanotechnology is an enabling technology that opens new possibilities in construction sustainability. NanoArchitecture leads to more Ecological Architecture, Smarter Architecture and zero carbon architecture through using nanotechnology, and nanomaterials. New materials are being discovered and developed everyday as a result of investigating ways to achieve molecular and atomic precision in engineering of materials. These new materials present new opportunities to solve problems related to energy in building (consumption and generation), or water treatment and air Purification….. As a result, NanoArchitecture has the ability to meet accepted environmental performance criteria and effects of global climate change.

Abstract: During the Song and Yuan Dynasties, with the increasing flourished overseas transportation, large numbers of foreign merchants swarmed into Quanzhou, bringing rich exotic cultures and religions, including Nestorian Christianity and Franciscan Christianity. Christian stone architecture began to emerge in Quanzhou. A general understanding of the spread of Christianity at that time can be obtained through the analyses of the existing Christian stone tombs, gravestones and debris of stone buildings in Quanzhou. Since Christianity was not truly supported by the locals in Quanzhou during the Song and Yuan Dynasties, the waves of foreign merchants left Quanzhou due to the tumultuous wartimes in the late Yuan Dynasty and the xenophobic atmosphere in the early Ming Dynasty resulted in the rapid decline of Christianity and Christian stone architecture.
