Abstract: The fruit of Smilax china is an edible spherical berry. The content of some bioactive compounds, antioxidant activities in three different assays, and the relationships between these bioactive compounds and antioxidant activity of the extracts derived from the peel of the fruit of were investigated. The results showed that the ethyl acetate-soluble fraction (EAF) was the richest fraction in total phenolic, total flavonoids content. The n-butanol-soluble fraction (BF) had the highest concentration of anthocyanins. EAF and BF showed good DPPH radical-scavenging activity (DRSA) and reducing power (RP), while the crude extract (CE) possessed better hydroxyl radical-scavenging activity (HRSA) than other fractions. There were statistically significant correlations between some antioxidants and antioxidant activities.

Abstract: In this study, aiming at the characteristics of Abelmoschus manihot (L.) bast lignin content is high and degumming difficulty, it introduces a new type of degumming methods. Microwave-assisted treatment was used in the degumming process of Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Medik. The effect of NaOH concentration, microwave-assisted treatment time and temperature on the residual gum content in Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Medik fibers were investigated. The result showed that the optimal conditions by microwave-assisted treatment were 50min of processing time,10g/L of NaOH concentration and 95°C of temperature when the residual gum content could reach to 0.96%. Compared with the traditional process, this method significantly shortened the time from 90-240min to 50min. Developed a highly efficient, low energy consumption degumming process, and the Abelmoschus manihot (L.) fiber after the degumming process was be applied to the development and utilization of textile products.

Abstract: A simple and efficient molecularly imprinted sensor (MIPs/GR/GCE) was firstly prepared by electropolymerization of pyrrole in the presence of bovine serum albumin (BSA) in an aqueous solution based on a graphene modified glassy carbon electrode for the selective recognition of bovine serum albumin. The prepared sensor was characterized by differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), in which [Fe(CN)6]3−/4− was used as an electrochemical active probe. The results showed a wide linear range from 1.0 × 10-3 to 1.0 × 10-9 g/mL. And the imprinted biosensor indicated excellent selectivity and high sensitivity.

Abstract: Oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) in this study was used to remove silica bodies embedded on OPEFB strands. Silica bodies were removed by sonication method at varying sonication temperature of 40, 50 and 60 °C and tested using scanning electron microscopy imaging (SEM), x-ray diffraction (XRD) and applied to an anaerobic digester to quantify biogas production. Sonication was applied using an ultrasonic cleaner, producing 40 kHz sonic wave. This paper intends to utilize and optimize OP-EFB as bio-matrices to enhance biogas production. Results showed that the highest sonication temperature; 60 °C recorded the most perforated holes on SEM image, lowest intensity at 75 CPS for XRD analysis and highest biogas production of 13,919.27 cm3.

Abstract: With the development of human society, modern industrial and human life has caused serious damage on the environment. The paper has introduced the background about environmental pollution affecting the healthy and the development of socioeconomics briefly. Furthermore, a model is employed to describe the production planning within the certain pollution standard. Finally, the results show that the impact of the inducement to pollution on production output is markedly, and SO2 is obviously the COD.

Abstract: A greenhouse experiment was performed to investigate the vanadium bioavailability of alfalfa grown in vanadium-cadmium contaminated soil. The results show bioavailable and total vanadium concentration in rhizosphere soil is higher than it in non-rhizosphere soil. With increasing vanadium addition, its speciation in soil is transformed to AC, RE, and OX fraction, especially to RE fraction. Alfalfa has high vanadium accumulation (up to 1221.86 mg/kg), and 70% of root samples belonged to strong absorption to vanadium. Both bioavailable and total vanadium in rhizosphere and non-rhizosphere soil have direct correlation with its content in alfalfa root. The increasing cadmium addition may inhibit vanadium absorption in alfalfa roots.

Abstract: In order to explore the intensive extent of urban land use in Sujiatun District of Shenyang City, the AHP and maximal value normalization were taken to analyze the level of intensive use of urban land. Results indicated that land use is extensive and land functions are mixed in the study area. Land use intensity should be strengthened and more land should be reserved for construction so as to improve the land use efficiency.

Abstract: Aquillaria species or agarwood has principal uses as medicine, perfume and also incense. This study was mainly on the agarwood waste; the element occurs in agarwood waste with pre-treatment was examined, and the results are compared against raw agarwood and agarwood waste ash. The objective of present work is to indicate the inorganic compound available, especially silica in agarwood waste. Series of analyses was performed to study the organic and inorganic compound found in agarwood waste, as well as to determine the silica existence. The analysis involved CHN, XRD and TGA. Further study is necessary in order to develop new substitute raw material for silica gel production by using agarwood waste.

Abstract: Using ecological niche model, the suitability of forest land-use in Nanfen of Benxi City, Liaoning Province was evaluated in terms of natural, economic and social factors. Results indicated there was not enough suitable area for forest land-use and one-third of current forest land-use was evaluated as unsuitable area. Ecological niche of actual resources should be improved for better eco-environment of forest land-use.

Abstract: s:Snow and ice control is important for expressway transportation in winter. The use of snow-melting agents is one of the indispensable measures to fight against snow and ice. Opening traffic as soon as possible and ensuring traffic safety for expressways require removing ice and snow on the pavement effectively and quickly. First of all, thematerial selection, spreading quantity must be considered in the use of snow-melting agents. How to use snow-melting agents scientifically is discussed in the paper.
