Abstract: This study proposes a planning model for developing an ecological corridor in the proposed low-carbon city in Shenzhen. Employing research methods involving RS, GIS, and landscape indicator analysis, this paper identifies the priority strategic points (links) for the development of an ecological corridor in the study region. Based on the findings of the research, this study suggests several operational strategies for ecological corridor planning and related land development management.

Abstract: Body has been incorporated with architecture because of media technology. Through literature reading, the paper takes some projects of Stelarc, Nox Architects and Marcos Navok as examples and analyzes characteristics and methods of the incorporation with body, media and building. Combination of body and media influenced the traditional comprehension of space perception and stimulated the relationship of body and Architecture. The discussion reveals incorporation with body and media became an important factor in the evolution of architecture.

Abstract: The development of Chinese senior residential communities is just in the fledging period. Hence, the planning, design and other related experience is very limited. Some newly built senior residential communities, were duplications of successful projects in developed countries, with some minor changes. These new endeavours were lacking in enough comprehensive considerations regarding local cultural and social backgrounds during the fast construction requirements. Through the utilization of documentary research and case studies, this paper examined and compared the international and domestic cases, in order to decipher the exiting problems and challenges regarding these newly built senior accommodations. Coming from the perspectives of planning and architectural design, this paper proposes some improvements regarding satisfying the seniors physical and psychological requirements based on Chinese culture and the social backgrounds and practical requirements of the seniors.

Abstract: Abundant historic buildings still exist in Shanxi, of which architectures built in Song, Liao and Jin Dynasty are in the majority, especially the number and area of murals in this period ranking first in the nationwide, which embody the essence of Chinese traditional culture with great artistic value. The constant abundance and development of culture and art in ancient China are represented on murals of this period, and valuable materials have been provided for our understanding towards the painting technique of ancient murals in Shanxi, which is beneficial for our study on the historical origin of traditional architecture and mural art meanwhile. This paper focuses on the discussion and analysis comprehensively of 6 existing murals including murals of Shousheng Temple of Ruicehng, Shanxi, murals of the Great Hall of Mahavira in Kaihua Temple, Gaoping, murals of Sheli Tower in Jueshan Temple of Lingqiu, murals of Sakyamuni Pagoda in Fogong Temple of Ying County, murals of Amitabha Hall in Chongfu Temple of ShuoZhou and murals of Wenshu Hall in Yanshan Temple of Fanshi.
