Abstract: Corporate ethics and business ethics are becoming new requirements for a successful business in the 21st century. This trend continues to be strengthened throughout the industries and the construction industry cannot be exceptional. This research provides a practical framework of ethical decision making for construction together with the perceptions of construction professionals in respect to ethics and culture. A project factor approach is incorporated in the framework to reflect the unique feature of construction. The framework is based on Agent (virtue ethics) - Action (deontology) Results (consequentialism) model and the stakeholder concept of construction projects. The framework also intends to identify the ethical directions either mean-oriented or end-oriented. The effectiveness of the framework has been proved through a survey with construction professionals in Malaysia. The survey also includes cultural dimensions as ethic is a subset of culture. The outcomes of the survey shows that the construction professional in Malaysia are slightly more mean-oriented than end-oriented, and their cultural dimensions are more power oriented (PDI), more individualistic (IDV) and more masculine (MAS) compared to the Malaysia national level cultural dimensions.

Abstract: This paper chose two commercial and cultural blocks as the study objects to do walking experiments with GPS, namely Hefei Jindadi 1912 and Nanjing 1912 ,and collected 134 groups of behavior tracks information. The analysis on the two blocks space with typology method could compare and analyze the different characteristics of the four kind space forms. And author counted the data for the tourist behavior scope and walking distance to summer up the better characteristics of high utilization rate of nodes. The walking experiments with GPS put forward improvement suggestions for the existing space in the design of commercial and cultural blocks to make humanized atmosphere for the commercial and cultural blocks.

Abstract: The object of the research is the characteristic entrance space of the theme hotel. The papers study on the function of the entrance space which show theme cultural. In the view of architecture design, the researches summarize three methods to design the entrance space. The way of reference, association and extending are useful methods in entrance design. The thesis found the feature of the space design and the way how to organize the space.

Abstract: This paper focuses on the study of the color system composition in small and mid-sized towns in the Tibetan-inhabited area with the respect of the Tibetan Buddhism culture and the infusion of many other foreign cultures as a starting point. By means of the deduction related to Munsell Color System and color geography, it intends to find a kind of urban color system which is from religion but not the same as the one concerning religion. It aims at exploring the thoughts about the controlling and planning of urban color in the Tibetan-inhabited area and establishing a complete three-level color system framework so as to protect the color composition of the Labrang Monastery comprehensively as well as effectively guide the choices and structures of colors related to urban buildings in the old urban area in Xiahe County, Gansu Province.

Abstract: Industrial heritage or problems in modern city construction has been the focus of concern and controversy, Tianjin as an important port city of China in modern, the previous light and heavy industrial production activities in the city left numbers of traces. There is no longer have traditional industry vitality in these industry base, we should be how to locate it We have make great errors in "construction" and got the demolitions in our city, but also we accumulated a lot of experience too. Through careful investigation we found both not indulging in idle space in the old city has become a knot, also not be reckless of the cultural context in which the demolition and reconstruction, After all we are in decision-making mistakes in a short moment lost the "Tianjin ancient fossils -- old Chengxiang". To achieve sustainable city construction, we should respect the continuity of development of things, equilibrium and the public. Based on the transformation of "Tractor factory of Nankai District in Tianjin as example, we hope to explore and find some strategy in economy, balanced and sustainable development of industrial building heritages.

Abstract: As the key element of Huizhou culture, Hui-style architecture is one of the masterpieces of Chinese ancient architectures. The Hui-style architecture was highly praised by architecture masters both at home and abroad because of its phenotypic features, such as black tiles, white wall, and horse-like wall; its decoration features, such as tile carving, wood carving, stone carving; and its living features, such as high house, deep well, large lobby. Since most of the Hui-style architectures were built long time ago, had not been repaired for many years, as well as influenced by different kinds of natural hazards, the Hui-style architectures were decayed, eaten by worms, or damaged by fire to different degree. Most of these architectures could not meet the living requirements nowadays with faint light, high humidity, poor sound insulation, badly cracks and corrosion of all kinds of wood components; and needed to be repaired and reinforced badly. Based on this situation, the author believes that the Hui-style architecture would be in its original appearance in front of the word in the near future if the scientific research and proper reinforcement measures were adopted for the reinforcement of the Hui-style architectures.

Abstract: Livable city is referred to as the quality of living in an area that contributes towards a safe, healthy and enjoyable place. The Safe City and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) programs were implemented to address this issue. However, due to the rising crime index in 2004, it is questionable whether CPTED had successfully been implemented in this country especially in Kuala Lumpur. This paper discusses the role of CPTED in making Kuala Lumpur a liveable city and to assess the awareness and understanding among the citizens and the local authorities on CPTED program. The study was conducted among the professionals and staffs of Kuala Lumpur City Hall as they are the real implementers who are also responsible to inform the community of the CPTED programs. The findings revealed that, there is still a lack of understanding of CPTED program that affects the success of this program in increasing the safety levels of Kuala Lumpur to make the city more liveable.

Abstract: The article proposed that the green seeing ratio should be introduced in high density planning and design of residential area in China, pointing out that the green seeing ratio is a clear, effective index of strong operational in visual ecological design. It is necessary and feasible that the green seeing ratio as a evaluation index in the planning and construction of high density urban residential area in China. Advocates to take a combination of centralized and decentralized groups-residential areas and other ways of planning that by reducing the area of road, natural green details, take the tortuous roads and other methods can effectively improve the green seeing ratio. Some guidelines being followed in the building layout, open space design, road shape, plant greening in the detail design can effectively improve the green seeing ratio of high density residential area.
