Abstract: This paper introduces the Decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) method to explore factors which influence the Dynamic Capabilities effectively. A hierarchy of 8 criteria in 3 dimensions is formed to denote the influence levels and weighting of factors based on the expert survey from twelve related expert who are familiar in semiconductors industry, particular for DuPont’s Dynamic Capabilities. The result of the analysis showed Social Capital, Management of Cognitive and Organizational Resources are the major factors with characteristics of high Prominence and high Relation, which significantly affect other factors of Dynamic capacity build-up. Thus, the enterprises can build-up the Dynamic Capacities for competitiveness achieving by focused on enhancements of these 3 factors.

Abstract: The design of operation principles for a bulk handling port terminals is a complex and a multicriterion process. The design of ports is more complicated in a comparison with other infrastructure and industrial objects – in an addition to the choice of the location position and a handling technology it is necessary to apply a lot of fields of knowledge.

Abstract: Chinese government has decided to treat the adjusting industrial structure as the strategic task to the national economy. In this situation, labor-intensive industry (LII) is ignored in some extent. This ignorance deserves our attention. To rediscover the new meaning of LII, this paper tries to redefine it, and to predict the direction of its upgrade in China. We think that LII can be divided into four parts: traditional LII, LII based on capital, LII based on technology, and advanced LII. The non-traditional meanings of LII are the production processes depending on labors in capital-and technology-intensive industry. We put forward two upgrade directions of LII: the traditional LII will transfer to the non-traditional LII; LII is shifting from the east China to inland. The paper will help us re-cognize the meanings of LII, and review our current policy in the process of adjusting industrial structure.

Abstract: This paper presents a methodology for the strategic planning of product replenishment in stores of a supermarket network. The purpose of such strategic planning is to reduce stockouts levels and prevent overstocking, in addition to enhancing logistics service to customers. A quantitative method for predicting time series, Radial Basis Function Neural Networks, is used. After that, we applied the new methodology composed by quantitative methods, based on literature and by qualitative methods, based on the company’s staff day-to-day practices. The association of these qualitative and quantitative methods, very simple and efficient, is the main contribution of this paper. The results were highly satisfactory, reducing the Distribution Center (DC) to store stockouts levels from 12% to 0.7% on average in the hypermarkets, and from 15% to 1.7% in the supermarkets. It is worth emphasizing that the methodology proposed here can be applied to any company facing this challenging forecasting problem.

Abstract: The evolution of knowledge related to Integrated Management (IM) is clearly discernible. The growing complexity of the subject can be seen by the incorporation of new concepts and their increasing interrelationship demanding changes in education specially the relationship between what is taught in Industrial Engineering and Business schools and what is applied in companies. Here we introduce the e-tangram simulator, which seeks to develop conceptual (strategic), technical (operations management) and human skills in business managers. It provides a virtual learning environment that allows experimentation in a company operating in a competitive environment. Once the simulation environment has been defined, students acting as managers can develop their ability to strategically manage a company, combining variables from the external environment and the functional areas of marketing, operations, human resources and finance. To determine the impact of the simulator on learning among undergraduate Industrial Engineering and Business students data were collected from 500 students and analyzed according to The Collective Subject Discourse methodology. The results showed that the activities carried out in the simulation environment were of great help in consolidating technical and conceptual learning among undergraduates; developing human skills, particularly those related to negotiations.

Abstract: The correctly machine tool sales forecast can occupy a favorable position in the unpredictably market. The grey theory is mainly applied to single exponential growth of data sequence, as well as the linear regression model needs to collect a large quantity of data. For these problems, this paper puts forward the grey linear regression model to predict the machine tool sales and result is calculated by using Matlab programming. Matlab is software which can carry out numerical calculation. The feasibility of this combination model is verified through the example. It can obtain higher prediction accuracy by collecting relative little data. The combination model has a lot of advantages in the machine tool sales forecast.

Abstract: In order to understand the relationship between passenger ship age and risk condition of the passenger ship deeper, the concept of ship risk age is proposed based on the passenger ships’ data in port state control referring to the concept of physiological age from the physiological point of view. The risk evaluation index system of passenger ships is built and low risk passenger ships’ information are obtained based on the Paris-MOU risk evaluation model by cluster analysis of K-means under the general classification principle’s guidance. Risk age of passenger ships is estimated by regression analysis of the ship actual age and risk evaluation indexes through ε-SVR regression model, which provides a thought and basis for the management of old ships.

Abstract: According to the risk assessment conducted on buried gas pipelines,it is found that the number of factors affecting pipeline failure is more than 130 and that it could not reach the requirement by using a model to calculate or evaluate. On the base of the traditional buried gas pipeline fault tree analysis, this paper puts forward a thought of the grading modeling risk assessment, adopting the compensation fuzzy neural network theory . The fault trees minimal cut sets grading modeling helps to establish the mathematical model of compensation fuzzy neural network risk assessment, deduce the model error transformation formula, revise the assessment errors ,and solve the problem of risk assessment of the large buried gas pipelineswhich needs to consider many assessment factors. The practical study demonstrates that the assessment results are objective and the assessment errors are small.

Abstract: In the past few decades’ lean production has become widely adopted in many industries, however there is still great opportunity to combine lean production with other methods or tools to reduce waste and improve production performance. QFD (Quality Function Deployment, QFD) is a combination of quality control and quality assurance methods that transform the customer's requirements into the technical aspects of response to the customer. "Lean" is derived from the Toyota Production System; Lean principles to eliminate waste. Many companies already use lean manufacturing and QFD methods, but can still not reach zero waste or fully reflect the needs of customers into new product designs. This study is based on the lean production concept to create a QFD model to reduce waste in the manufacturing process and reflect customer feedback. This article presents a literature review and then defines the QFD and lean manufacturing concepts and relationships. We use the Pareto chart to select the waste materials priority and build some technical solutions into the HOQ. Finally, this article provides lean concepts and QFD links and revises the standard manufacturing operating procedures (standard operation procedure, SOP). Management will be based on the newly revised SOP to improve waste management and further improve quality management.

Abstract: Based on the characteristics of current China's electricity power market, it is necessary to develop the self-regulation system for all market participants. This paper sets up index system based comprehensive risk evaluation for self-regulation construction, which covers market infrastructure stability, schedule fairness, trade compliance, electricity bill settlement risk. The evaluation criterion for each indicator is given afterwards. The key self-regulation information and subsequent trade behavior improvement measures can be attained after making the evaluation by calculating each index value, thus conducive to achieving the power market transaction stability and efficiency.
