Introduction Functionally graded materials (FGMs) are characterized by the variation in composition and structure of a mechanical part gradually over volume, resulting in corresponding changes in the properties of the material.
The materials have great application potential in many engineering fields such as aerospace, nuclear reactors, power generators and automobile industries.
The FGM skin is first assumed to be consisted of 30 layers of uniform height containing isotropic homogeneous materials, The material parameters are constant in each layer and are equal to the value on the middle point of the corresponding layer.
