Abstract.
And the sinted CLS exhibited high temperature resistance and good ceramic formability.
In addition, the sintered CLS possess ceramic yield up to 75.8%.
Consequently, CLS derived ceramics was dominated by β-SiC formed at 1450°C.

About 8 years ago, the author co-wrote a paper with Professor Diran Apelian for the International Cast Metals Journal (IJMC) [4] which described various pressure-assisted casting processes then being used to make high integrity structural aluminum castings.
Processes suitable for mass production of a light-weight and high integrity aluminum product were presented in the International Cast Metals Journal (IJMC) reference [4] and will not be detailed again herein.
The most efficient use of a ceramic like Super Sialon might be as the lining for a high-heat resistant steel feature; 4-5 mm ceramic thickness might be adequate.
THIS CONCEPT OBVIOUSLY REQUIRES CAREFUL SYSTEMS ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION, BUT ONCE THE SYSTEM IS IN PLACE IT SHOULD PRODUCE RHEOCAST PRODUCTS COMPETITIVE WITH CONVENTIONAL HPDC IN TERMS OF COST BUT WITH QUALITY AND PROPERTIES FAR SUPERIOR TO CONVENTIONALL HPDC.

Abstract.
In addition, the ceramic-particle reinforcement significantly increases their wear resistance [5].
In stir casting it is extremely difficult to obtain uniform distribution of ceramic particles in liquid alloys due to high viscosity, large surface tension of molten metals and poor wettability in the alloy matrix [1 - 3].
Mechanical stirring is very much useful to disperse ceramic particles in the metal matrix.
