This study aims to generate a risk evaluation methodology for the aged dam structure by coupling the micro and macro models created by hydraulic computation and discontinuous deformation analysis (DDA) with numerical manifold method (NMM), respectively.
For risk factors of the aged dam, macro analysis for geotechnical structure and micro estimation on hydraulic environment can be considered.
Interactions between the dam structure and surrounding ground layers can be described as a discontinuous block system that was initially observed in studies for rocks and particles.
