It is clear from Fig. 2 that the degree of nitriding of the E3 test piece of the 1.5G/Ti was more advance for the top surface (E3 top) than for the bottom surface (E3 bottom) and that the degree of nitriding of the E3 test piece of the 1.5G/Ti was more advanced than that of the E4 test piece (E4 powder).

Low-Carbon Hydrogen: A Key Piece for a Just Energy Transition ADEKANBI Ayodeji Stephen1,a*, OKEKE Chima Stephen2,b and James Carton3,c 1Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, Dublin City University, Ireland 2Department of Automotive Engineering, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Nigeria aayodejiadekanbi.s@gmail.com, bstephensmart377@gmail.com, cjames.carton@dcu.ie, Keywords: low-carbon hydrogen, just energy transition, developing countries, fossil fuel blue hydrogen, sustainable development goals (SDGs), green hydrogen Abstract.
Still, technological advancements and improvements in energy efficiency, such as advanced electrolysis, hydrogen fuel cells, etc, can help reduce the energy requirements and cost for LCH production in the future [32]. [33] demonstrate that advancements in large-scale blue hydrogen systems, such as improved SMR processes and CCUS integration, have reduced production costs and emissions.
Likewise, the development of LCH value chains will create jobs in engineering, construction and maintenance in places where the required natural (gas) resources are located [37].
Economically, hydrogen infrastructure investment (production, distribution, and use) can generate jobs in construction, engineering, maintenance, and operations.
To achieve these, policies that advance the adoption of LCH must be implemented across national levels.
