Introduction Negative Poisson's ratio materials expand transversely when stretched axially, and also undergo transverse contraction under axial compression.
There is increasing interest in the development of these novel materials, known as auxetic materials [1], due to their counter-intuitive behaviour and also in applications where the auxetic property itself, or enhancements in other materials properties due to a negative Poisson's ratio, may be exploited.
The development of auxetic nanomaterials is expected to lead to high modulus auxetic materials as well as having potential in sensor, molecular sieve and separation technologies [2].
Parise: Science Vol. 257 (1992), p. 650

This problem can be solved due to use of functional materials with shape memory effect (SME).
Bypass devise design, materials and research methods For BD optimal design with a spring made of SME materials, efficient LICs arrangement within LISB, and ensuring possibility of a failed LIC exclusion from a circuit, simulation of thermal processes was made, which allowed to define maximum permissible temperature and BD action time [3].
