Wide-bandgap semiconductors, such as silicon carbide and group-III nitrides, are attracting increased attention as promising materials for high-power, high-frequency and high-temperature electronics use, as well as for short-wavelength light-emitters.

Online since: October 2008
Description: Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
Concrete is, both practically and metaphorically, one of the major civil-engineering materials supporting modern society. But both concrete technology, and its structures, face daunting challenges arising from environmental erosion and other natural, and man-made, hazards.
Edited by: Akira Suzuki, Hajime Okumura, Prof. Tsunenobu Kimoto, Takashi Fuyuki, Kenji Fukuda and Dr. Shin-ichi Nishizawa
Online since: September 2008
Description: Wide-bandgap semiconductors, such as silicon carbide and group-III nitrides have attracted increasing attention as promising target materials for high-power, high-frequency and high-temperature electronics use, as well as exploitation as short-wavelength light-emitters.
Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
Edited by: Pierre Steinmetz, Ian G. Wright, Alain Galerie, Dr. Daniel Monceau and Stéphane Mathieu
Online since: September 2008
Description: Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
This special volume addresses fundamental and practical aspects of high-temperature corrosion and protection. It stresses that devoting attention to an understanding of the corrosion problems encountered by contemporary industry, and providing opportunities for extended interaction, could lead to approaches for improving the performance of materials and protective measures.
Edited by: Yung-Jen Lin and Wen-Cheng J. Wei
Online since: June 2008
Description: Engineering materials have long been challenges to, as well as the foundations of, industries and technologies. New technologies and new devices become available largely through the introduction of new materials or the improvement of existing materials.
Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
Edited by: Pierre Steinmetz, Ian G. Wright, Gerry Meier, Alain Galerie, Bernard Pieraggi and Renaud Podor
Online since: August 2004
Description: Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
The major concern of this book is high-temperature corrosion; a form of surface disintegration that leads to high running costs, as well as to environmental and/or security problems.
Edited by: R. Streiff, I.G. Wright, R.C. Krutenat, M. Caillet and A. Galerie
Online since: October 2001
Description: Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
The degradation of materials and coatings in aggressive environments continues to be of great relevance to a wide range of industrial applications. The topic is of vital economic concern to the transportation, energy generation, and chemical processing industries in the developing, as well as the developed, nations of the world. The dual thrusts of conservation of resources and protection of the environment here strongly influence the tone of the technical submissions and thus again reflect the world-wide concern.
Edited by: Dr. David J. Fisher
Online since: December 2000
Description: This is the third special issue to cover recent progress in the field. As usual, priority in abstracting has been given to the most accessible work and, in particular, to those papers which furnish original data or report important new techniques, phenomena or anomalies; although there is also extensive coverage of more qualitative features of diffusion and defect phenomena, of the predictions of computer models, and of theoretical studies. As before, the usual definition of ‘ceramic’ has been widened so as to include all forms of carbon, and also some nitrides whose primary use is not that of a classical ceramic.
Edited by: T. Sakuma, K. Yagi
Online since: October 1999
Description: Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
Recent research on the creep and fracture of engineering materials is presented, with particular emphasis being placed on: mechanisms of high-temperature deformation and fracture, materials for high-temperature service, the behavior of single and polycrystals, components and structures, grain boundaries and interfaces, and superplasticity.
