Abstract: A new type power steering system was developed for electric hybrid city bus. It is mainly composed of fluid reservoir, electric motor, steering pump, safety valve, solenoid, pressure sensor, hydraulic cylinder, braking air tank, controller, steering wheel, steering angle sensor, steering control valve, mechanical steering mechanism, steering power cylinder. Its main idea is based on using of pressure from braking air tank to push a cylinder to generate hydraulic pressure. It can provide enough pressure for steering needing timely. And the steering pump does not need working at the time of no steering requirement. The application of a new type power steering system can save energy to improve fuel efficiency.

Abstract: The right panel drawing direction is an important prerequisite for generating qualified parts, an important step before the panel forming simulation is to determine the reasonable direction of the drawing. Manually adjust parts in order to overcome rely on experience, the drawbacks to the drawing direction, the direction of the drawing punch and forming the contact area of the sheet as the goal of automatic determination algorithm. Objective function of the direction of the drawing for the variable contact area in the drawing direction of the feasible region, the use of heritage algorithms to optimize the objective function of the contact area and, ultimately feasible within the contact area corresponding to the drawing direction, that is the best drawing direction. The measured results show that the direction of the drawing based on genetic algorithm, the automatic algorithm can fast and accurate to obtain the optimal direction of drawing.

Abstract: Aiming at the present state of software development of the Automotive electronics system, the Simulink/Stateflow of Matlab and the code generation tool Targetlink were applied to realize the modeling and simulation of system and code automatic generation of the Automotive electronics software. An example of the software development of automobile anti-theft alarm system was implemented by requirement analysis, system modeling, simulation test and code generation.

Abstract: The amount and the power of the electrical appliances on cars are increasing, and the fuel consumption produced by the electrical system is getting larger. To design an automotive electrical power system with higher efficiency is a very practical requirement. In this paper, we proposed an automotive intelligent alternator control system. In this system, we divided the battery states to different partitions by state of charge, and designed an intelligent alternator control system to work in different mode according to the battery partition and the vehicle state. With this system we can realize the braking energy regeneration for traditional cars and reduced the fuel consumption. We carried out the experiment with a car, and the results indicated that with this system, the fuel consumption can be reduced by about 2-3%.

Abstract: This paper introduces a kind of testing device for automobile brake drum running-in stand and braking force, this device combines the existing car drum brake with braking force by means of increasing the frequency conversion speed control device and redesigning control system. Using this device will reduce the occupied site and realize the conversion between two functions in situ and save the operation time of function conversion. It can completely replace the original car drum brake running-in stand and braking force test bench.

Abstract: A device, which can be called locomotive speedometer, is discussed. Its main controller is STC89C58RC, USB interface chip is CH376S, display is LCD12864, clock chip is DS1302, and its memory is AT24C64. The result shows that the speedometer can show the corresponding information such as speed, time and date, store the messages in the memory, and transmit them to the USB Flash Drive correctly. Its parameters can be set easily though the keys if necessary. The locomotive speedometer has been applied on coal mine locomotives successfully.

Abstract: A generalized minimum variance controller is developed for multiple input and multiple output systems having time-varying dynamics. The plant to be controlled is described using a controlled autoregressive moving average model and the control objective is to minimize a generalized minimum variance performance index for servo applications.

Abstract: For soft-start system of for belt conveyor with long-distance and high-power, this essay, combining with lots of mechatronics research, design, application and commissioning work related with belt conveyor, researched and analyzed structure and governor principle of soft-start devices or systems successfully applied in coal mines or other industries. Furthermore, it evaluated each type of soft-starters in technical and economic aspects, which will play a guiding role in reasonable selection and application of soft starting devices.

Abstract: The offshore activities in cold waters have moved from shallow to deep sea waters, which require different operations as compared to activities in hot sea water. Such offshore operations in cold regions like arctic may be effected by the ice accretion on deck and other areas of structure. Ice mainly accretes from both sea spray and atmospheric icing, which can create problems for operational environment and safety of people working on offshore structures in cold regions. In this research a lab based experimental study has been carried out to preliminary design and test an intelligent thermal anti/de-icing system. The experimental study was carried out in cold room chamber of Narvik University College, where temperature can be well controlled between +10 to-30 °C. The proposed intelligent thermal based deicing system can be used to control the communication between icing sensors, weather station, heating devices and central control unit. In this preliminary design phase, a simple surface temperature control method has been developed and tested that can further provides an efficient thermal deicing method and will also be capable to control the surface temperature of objects of interest in cold regions
