Abstract: Treatment of low-strength wastewater of chemical oxygen demand (COD) around 500-1500 mg/L was studied in a 100 L capacity laboratory scale anaerobic baffled reactor (four compartments) at low temperature (17 oC-25 oC). The reactor was operated at influent COD concentrations of 1500, 1000 and 500 mg/L and hydraulic retention times (HRTs) of 24, 12 and 8 h, with the average COD removals changing from 94% to 83%. Compartment-wise studies of various parameters revealed that if the organic loading rate (OLR) was larger, the initial compartment played significant role in the removal of organics. The examinations of scanning electron micrographs (SEM) indicated that the microbial composition of granular sludge were obviously different in four compartments.

Abstract: Humidity measurement is an important link of corrosion monitoring in aircrafts and tanks. But the traditional monitor systems are not portable, can’t be real-time monitoring and other shortcomings. In order to solve these problems, a method that using a new sensor -- comb-shaped capacitive sensor in the humidity monitoring has been proposed. This method is based on electrical theory, combined with the processing of circuit, including the generation of the input signal, signal processing, and acquisition of output signal, and finally analyze the data collected to achieve the purpose of the monitoring of humidity.The problem of how to reduce the noise impact, how to simplify the theoretical calculation and other problems are considered and resolved in the design of the system.Compared with the traditional methods, the system based on this method is simple and compact because of its simple on the hardware design and the characteristics of the sensor. The experimental results show that this method has an very important significance in the atmospheric humidity monitoring.

Abstract: This paper analyzed the main interference sources and their influences on the operation of protection both in the smart substation and the traditional substation. The interferences could be suppressed by reducing radiation of the interference sources, blocking the coupling channel of common-mode interference, promoting the anti-electromagnetic interference ability of the sensitive circuit and designing the bleeder circuit rationally. A microcomputer protection has passed the EMC test successfully by adopting these measures.

Abstract: This paper, based on the origin of Karst Area landslide and the geographical conditions of Guizhou, studies the application of WSN technology on monitoring and forecast landslide and other geological disasters in Karst, and then put forward a landslide monitoring plan. We study the data acquisition layer node topology, and construct WSN monitoring system and test it under the stimulated environment. The result has shown that, the constructed monitoring system can meet the need of real time monitoring of landslide stability in Karst Area.

Abstract: In this paper we present some considerations concerning the determination of the reactive postural response, measured and analyzed in a bipodal balance study. This study allows the emphasizing of the subjects’ postural reactions when the balance on axial direction exceeds the base of support (BOS). In the first part of the paper, we present the types of bipodal supports and we analyze the sensorial influences. In the second part we present the recording and analysis system and also the results and conclusions upon the determination of reactive postural response (RPR) in bipodal balance situations.

Abstract: Condition assessment of cables has gained more attention for the bridge safety. The cable is under tensile load in service. The effect of tensile load for detecting broken wires on parallel wire cable based on guided waves is investigated. The sample cable with broken wires under several levels of tensile load is detected using guided waves based on the magnetostrictive effect. The amplitude of flaw echo increases monotonically with the increasing of tension. The results indicate that the tensile load brings benefit for detecting broken wires in the parallel wire cable.

Abstract: The unit of Electric spindle is decided processing speed and precision of the machine key functional components, it determines the development direction of machine tool industry. Use high-performance structure ceramic as electric spindle of spindle, bearing main of rotating parts material, mainly use ceramic material density is small, hardness higher good characteristics, improve the inherent frequency and life axis. Based on the modal analysis theory, the use of the laboratory's hammer excitation 170SD30 models of the ceramic motorized spindle by experimental modal analysis got its first three order inherent frequency and critical speed. Results show that all the ceramic motorized spindle rated frequency far below its first order natural frequency, rated speed far below its first order critical speed, it can effectively avoid resonance region that ensure the process accuracy.

Abstract: Electromagnetic defect detection logging can measure multilayer pipeline and provide the information of casing defect and the remaining metal thickness, is the hot spot of the casing defect detection technology. This paper elaborates the advantages and disadvantages of electromagnetic defect detection logging and the present instrument situation, compares technical indexes of several new electromagnetic casing defect detection instruments, summarizes the latest research status, points out the problems existed in current researches and the development trend combining with the instrument index and theory research.

Abstract: The concentration of cadmium ion in textiles was measured with the method mentioned in Oeko-Tex Standard 100 requirements and GB/T 2912.1-1998 standard. The results show that the measured concentration of cadmium ion fits the normal distribution well after resampled by the method of bootstrap. In the paper, the exposure routine through skin is defined as the object of study, and calculating model of cadmium ion exposure in textiles in the condition of exposure simulation is established. Effective concentration is defined as the confidence limit (UCL) when the confidence level reaches to 95%, and the amount of cadmium exposure to human through skin is obtained, which is 3.2510-4μg/(kg·d).

Abstract: In order to detect the fabric defects automatically, a real-time system and algorithm for the detection were developed in which the hardware part included image acquisition, signal processing and illumination device. The ring data model of defect silhouette is constructed to subsequent defects analysis. At last, examples prove that this algorithm can accomplish extraction of fabric defect silhouette preferably. The verification indicates that the design can satisfy the requirements of practical application well and make the detection flexible and convenient.
