Abstract: As mobile devices of embedded systems prevail in our daily life, energy saving emerges as one very important issue and power management techniques are desirable. This paper presents the design and the implementation of a dynamic power management mechanism (DPMM) for embedded systems running micro-kernel operating systems. The DPMM is composed of policy manager, DVFS (Dynamic Voltage Frequency Scaling) controller, DPM (Dynamic Power Management) server, resource management flags, and DPM library. They are imple-mented to execute on an embedded system platform equipped with an XScale PXA270 processor and various I/O interfaces or devices running Zinix micro-kernel operating system. Testing results indicate that this DPMM effectively achieves power management in the system.

Abstract: Aimed at the problem that the traditional data acquisition system design with low efficiency and high cost. It is proposed that the C8051F040 microcontroller is based on the integrated A/D converter and CAN controller; utilize dynamic control simulation input quantity into the built-in A/D converter, process and store the data through the micro-processing unit, and use integrated CAN controller to transmit the data. From schematics design to the boards development, we have achieved the functions that acquisition of multi-channel data combined with CAN network communication through hardware and software debugging. The design of this product is small, powerful and wide used. It has good application and development prospects.

Abstract: The interface presented in this paper is recommended for high speed data acquisition systems; it performs a synchronized sampling of all common-mode or differential analog inputs with a high sampling rate. This is a low cost interface, entirely controlled by the PC104 CPU. Programmable electronic modules that contain such PC104 interfaces can be found running in the energetic system from Romania; these dedicated equipments perform the analog and digital signal acquisition for monitoring and recording different specific transient events. Some experimental results obtained using the disturbance monitoring device PC-08/104 are also presented in this paper.

Abstract: The wide band antenna is a key technique for the passive radar. This paper proposed a new kind of wide band antenna combined with the Archimedean spiral and hemispherical helix for passive radar application. For the new antenna, the planar Archimedean spiral is mounted on the top of the hemispherical helix, and it is fed at the center of the Archimedean spiral. An antenna with specific structure and parameters was designed and simulated to obtain its radiation performances over the operating frequency range from 2GHz to 10GHz. For entire operating frequency range, the simulated gain is greater than 5 dBi and the voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) is less than 2 when the characteristic impedance of transmission line at the terminal is 240Ω. Wide beam and approximately circular polarization characteristics are also observed. The simulation results demonstrate that the new kind of antenna has wide band radiation performances, which can be used in passive radars. Furthermore, the proposed antenna has simple structure and low cost, so it is suitable for mass fabrication.

Abstract: With the popularization of mobile broadband network, mobile devices have been used more wildly in recent years. As an important part of mobile services, LBS (Location Based Service) also has rapid development for such devices. However, LBS on mobile devices will consume more energy and mobile users have more restrict performance requirement than before. As an important part of on-chip memory, scratchpad memory (SPM) has less power-consumption and higher performance for SPM is controlled by software and without extra tags. In this paper, we proposed a novel optimization approach based SPM for mobile LBS to reduce the power-consumption and improve the performance of the application. According to our approach, SPM is used as the on-chip main memory to contain the data with high frequency of use. The experimental results show that SPM can optimize the mobile LBS both on power-consumption and performance.

Abstract: To implement fast transmation for a large amount of the electricity parameters and timely measurement, the network power meter is developed based on Modbus TCP. The power meter mainly uses 32bits ARM processor STM32F103RBT6, thighly integrated Delta-Segma ADC CS5451 and Ethernet chip W5100 built-in hardwired TCP/IP stack. According to the meter usage on the testing spot, the measurement precision and communication speed of the network power meter can well meet the power industry requirements.

Abstract: This paper introduces a new kind of flexible wing with embedded piezoelectric actuator as framework for Micro Air Vehicles (MAV), which was fixed spar in the previous flexible wing. This made it a controllable flexible wing because the new flexible wing can not only works as previous model without control, but also can change its wing profiles in our purpose by using the embedded piezoelectric actuator when its necessary. The mathematical model of the deformation of piezoelectric actuator under control has developed. with which the structure of the flexible wing was designed. The simulation of dynamic characteristic of the flexible wing with embedded piezoelectric actuator has been done with ANSYS software.

Abstract: The polarization phenomenon occurs when the sunlight is scattered by atmospheric molecules. As a result, there is a polarization pattern in the sky. An amount of research shows that many nature insects can derive orientation information from this pattern, such as bees and ants. The fundamental polarization pattern in the sky is presented. The characters and the orientation mechanism of the nature insects are discussed. The basic principle of designing the polarization skylight navigation sensor is explained. The domestic and foreign relevant researches and application situation of this new navigation method are summarized in details. In the end, the characters of application fields and its application prospect are previewed.

Abstract: Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle has become a new global research and development hotspot with dual characteristics as electric and hybrid. Power split strategy influences fuel economy and emission performance. Selecting the plug-in series hybrid system used for bus as the research object, the power split and engine speed control strategy based on fuzzy control has been developed. The simulation results show that the strategy can improve the fuel economy and emission performance effectively.
