Abstract: Urban and Rural Planning Act strengthens the role and status of the regulatory plan. Strict adjustment program is needed if government want to revise a plan. Therefore, how to improve the scientificity and feasibility of regulatory plan is very important. This article summarizes some questions about regulatory plan from technology view. These questions include random entrust and difficult linkage between different plans by lacking of overall consideration, previous studies are not profound, the unified content and depth result in planning with no pertinence, regulating index system is standardized, and parcel division is not practical. Then, some specific measures to resolve these questions are put forward, include establishment of a unified land coding system, hierarchical control, zoning control and formulate a unified local technical requirements.

Abstract: In the current era of such a complex and diverse, linear thinking has no longer a reasonable explanation of complex phenomena in various fields, thus the non-linear thinking is coming to the fore. While the city is a complex nonlinear system, in such a digital information age characterized by technology, non-linear thinking must replace the original simple linear thinking in urban planning and design process. The purpose of this study is to analyze new urban planning visions by using the core ideas of the nonlinear scientific theory. The article mainly analyzes the nonlinear theory and the relations between it and urban planning, including the nonlinear theory of chaos theory, fractal theory, the inherent randomness theory, thus forming a new concept of urban planning and design.

Abstract: This article discusses the NMT communities on the impact of urban environment and social issues, proposing the main problems existing in NMT communities are follows: The NMT paths are lack of systematic; the wide of NMT is not enough; mixed with the motor transportation; NMT environmental quality is not high. Then put forward some design methods: Set up a network of NMT combining with community environment; build up the NMT landscape suitable to human scale; community facilities design for NMT.

Abstract: Lying to the north of the Haixinsha Island, where the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of 2010 Asian Games were hosted, the Flower City Square (the Square) by itself forms an integral part of the new Central Axis of Guangzhou. Thanks to the media publicity of the Asian Games, the Square has now become a household name in Guangzhou and China. Relating major sports events with city squares, as in this case, taking advantage of the Asian Games to foster a festival atmosphere on the Square and present a spectacular metropolitan view, is proven to be a very effective measure to brush up the city image. This paper, based on a two-year survey on the Square, the record of spatial annotation analysis on uses of the Square, and questionnaire surveys involving the randomly selected visitors on the Square, compares the uses of the Square during and 2 years after the 2010 Asian Games through the means of Frequency Analysis, probes into the visitors satisfaction degree on the Square and its evaluation factors with the Factor Analysis Method, and demonstrates the impact of mega-events on the city squares and its implications.

Abstract: Color of the historical and cultural districts is the product of culture in a certain historical period and certain regions. This article systematically investigates the present color situation of Drum Backstreet's historical and cultural district in Yu county of Hebei province. From the analysis of color attributes including hue, brightness, saturation and tonal statistics characteristics, we can conclude three main characteristics of color of Drum Backstreet's historical and cultural district. One is ancient and modern architecture color difference is large, and color is no order, and color continuity of district is poor. Another one is the visual effect of architectural color individual relatively monotonous, low degree of saturation and high brightness. The third is the reddish yellow tone retaining the typical cultural characteristics. Three color planning suggestions are put forward, including protecting traditional color, following the principle of overall harmony and regulating building classification.
