Abstract: In recent years, the biomass energy industry has become an important part of the construction of “Green Beijing” and has begun to grow. This paper analyzes the resource availability, present situation, and existing problems with biomass energy in Beijing. In addition, it examines the advantages and disadvantages of developing biomass energy in Beijing, and proposes future development strategies. The findings are: 1) developing and utilizing biomass energy effectively and appropriately in suburban Beijing to improve livelihoods and the environment; 2) making full use of the technological, knowledge, and information advantages in Beijing by building an R&D base for biomass energy technologies; and 3) funds and technology should be transferred externally to establish a biomass energy industry base in regions outside of Beijing.

Abstract: Climate change is becoming a highlight of the world. As the world's second largest CO2 emission country, China faces increasing pressure. Energy consumption and utilizing is the major source of CO2 emissions. Optimization of the regional energy configuration can not only reduce energy consumption, but also reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Thus, it will achieve energy conservation and sustainable development. Based on the Eco-city constructed by China and Sino-Singapore, this paper calculates the regional energy-saving under the requirement of existing Energy Conservation Code, plans its energy saving quantity by taking some measurements and then predicts the carbon dioxide emission reductions. The result shows that using effective measures to save energy can reduce 227772t carbon dioxide emissions. Using renewable energy and energy saving measures will reduce 371414t CO2, which has a striking effect. So changing energy structure and using renew energy are main measures to reduce CO2 emission.

Abstract: The South-to-North Water Diversion Eastern Route Project of China is a complex large scale system. It is important of constructing a modelling and simulation for this type of system. This paper proposes a modelling and simulation technique for large scale water project based on Agent calculation and complex adaptive system (CAS). The simulation experiment system, about multi-Agents of water resources in East CAS management features is conducted using SWARM. We demonstrate also the interaction within all kinds of objects and the behaviour of system evolvement in the course of water resources allocation and scheduling. The simulation results show the proposed simulation model effective.

Abstract: In this study, the latest version of river boundary modular in MODFLOW, was employed in this watershed for the case study of coupled calculation between river and aquifer. Because of the complex interaction of groundwater and surface water in this area, the coupling model of SFR modular for river diffusive wave model and isochronal cell method for overland flow confluence model and numerical calculation of groundwater is coupled to simulate the runoff process of Weihe river. The model validation was aiming at river flow rate and groundwater field. The results show that 65% of the abstracted shallow groundwater comes from the river water and the reduced amount of river baseflow by the groundwater abstraction is 122 million m3 per year, which is also validated by a water balance analysis of river links. The 50% reduction of shallow groundwater abstraction may lead to a recover of 3 m of the lowest groundwater level. The study provides a sound analysis tool to the integrated water resources and ecology management in the region.

Abstract: Combined system of radiant cooling and dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS) has advantage in energy-saving and thermal comfort. In order to investigate the energy saving potential of the system under different climate conditions in China, Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Xi’an were selected, where summer energy consumption of the combined system and fan coil + fresh air system in reference building was calculated with BIN method respectively. The results show that radiant cooling system has better performance in energy saving than fan coil system by saving of 12-16%. The system operation time and outdoor climate are main factors influencing energy saving effect.

Abstract: The technique of curvilinear boundary-fitted coordinate system is used for the mathematical model of pressure underground seepage flow and the boundary conditions and the method of solving the transformed equations have been presented. The computing example shows that the computed hydraulic parameters conform to the physical laws. Compared with the finite element method, the presented method need not solve the large matrix equations, and the computer memories and the time for computing are less. The mathematical model is effective for numerical solution of seepage flows with complicated boundaries, and can be used in practice hydraulic engineering.

Abstract: In this paper, a improved algorithm based on Newmark-βto analyze the structural response under wind loads was presented and enhance the calculation efficiency in a great degree. The GWT was presented as an study case and its response under wind load was calculated by the proposed method. Nonlinear damping was taken into consideration in calculation. The result show that the structural RMS response in cross-wind direction is much larger than that in along-wind direction.

Abstract: City plays an important role during the national economic and social development. It is also a crucial and useful way to solving some complex or urgent problems, such as environment and resourses. So, strategic thinking for the development of China’s city is really necessary. This paper starts from some concepts and ideas of low carbon economic and low carbon city based on that we make sense of the meanings of the low carbon city in China. In turn, the backgorund of city development, which mainly foucses on the issues of spatial structure analysis, relationship between urbanization and industrialization, and urban energy consumption is introduced. Then, it can be concluded that rapid urbanization and industrialization will promote energy consumption and a low carbon mode as developing direction should be adopted for city. Accordingly, optimizing economic structure, enhancing energy efficiency, changing life style and developing low carbon technologies are defined as the key areas for developing low carbon city.

Abstract: This paper describes about various aspects of attaining a highly sustainable lunar colony. In space resource utilisation experiments and processing gives mineral beneficiaries .Application of emerging technologies will offer more scope for processing and manufacturing operations for instance laser technology which has found many applications on the moon. These technologies offer a clear road map to lunar colony and future lunar generation. Oxygen production, setting up fuel station, generating power and electricity are some of the tasks which can be achieved with the help of these emerging technologies.

Abstract: In the low-carbon economic era, competitions among enterprises are no longer confined to the traditional cost, service and quality, and environmental protection measures will inevitably become one of the important assessment criteria for customers to choose transportation service providers. In this paper, starting from the nature of low-carbon economy, it analyzes the dilemma faced in the development of green transportation industry in China, and then proposes effective countermeasures pertinently for achieving a green transport.
